Early life

Robinson was born in Louisville, Kentucky, attended public schools in Greenville, South Carolina, and later moved to Augusta, Georgia. Robinson signed a recording deal with Motown Records while attending the University of Georgia, but the label never released any of his work.

Career

Robinson, who went to Los Angeles and switched to acting, appeared in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, as Joel Rawlings, the Green Lightspeed Ranger. After the conclusion of the series, he appeared in films including Fat Albert and Mimic: Sentinel. Robinson appeared on such television shows as American Dreams, Monk, and Over There.

Obba Babatundé and Robinson (who portrayed C.C.) Both white and blue (in the original Broadway production of Dreamgirls) appeared on the UPN series Half & Half. Robinson appeared on Fox's Canterbury Fields recently in the role of Chester Fields. Robinson played a role in C.C. as the primary protagonist. In the film version of the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, White is the white. The film features a Robinson-led interpretation of the Dreamgirls' "Family" song. At the 79th Academy Awards ceremony, Robinson joined his fellow Dreamgirls cast members to perform "Patience," one of the film's latest hits. In the film This Christmas, he appeared. Robinson also appeared on Comanche Moon: Road to Lonesome Dove.
