Early life and education
In southern Indiana, Stam was born to Keith and Tracy Stam, both middle school students. Stam and her three siblings grew up on a dairy farm. At the Jackson County Fair, she participated in 4-H as an infant and displayed dairy cattle.
Stam earned her bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of Indianapolis after graduating from Seymour High School in Seymour, Indiana. In 2007, Stam interned at WTHR, the Indianapolis news station.
