Life and career

Soucie was born in Cleveland, Ohio.

She began learning acting under drama teacher Manu Tupou. She began a fruitful career on the New York stage after attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Soucie appeared in several television "movies of the week," including "The Amazing Journey of Doctor Meg Laurel" in the late 1970s. However, she was soon dissatisfied with the physical limitations of on-camera acting. In 1986, she took over Rambo's first voice over for three distinct girls: The Force of Freedom. Soucie Melnitz played Janine Melnitz on The Real Ghostbusters, the following year, beginning her voice acting career, taking over Laura Summer's role.
