Kana Nishino Career

1989–2007: The beginning of life and work.

Nishino studied English from an early age and then went to America twice. She became interested in various genres of music, including hip-hop, R&B, and reggae, but she also loved Japanese literature and started performing Japanese folk songs. In junior high school, she aspired to be a singer. When she was 16, her mother knowingly sent a demo tape of hers to the 'Mega Heroine Miss Phoenix Audition,' a Sony Music group, and she was voted the top singer entrant out of a total of around 40,000 applicants. She had signed to SME Records in 2006, and she was a member of SME Records.

She was also reading English literature at college in 2007 as she was preparing to be a singer. She met Australian duo Nervo who gave Nishino a song named "I Don't Want to Know" for use in her music project at the time. Nishino rewrote the song's lyrics into Japanese herself, renaming it "I" again.

Her official site opened in December 2007, and "I*Merry Christmas ver." began shortly, and several Japanese websites, including Mora, were available as a digital download from many Japanese sites, including Mora. On the American iTunes website, the original version of the song "I Don't Wanta Know" was available as a digital download from New Year's Day onwards. On February 20, 2008, the physical version was released two months later.

"Glowly Days" was Nishino's second album. "Style" was her third single from the anime series Soul Eater's second ending theme song, and her fourth single "Make Up" from the ONA Chocolate Underground from UK's miniseries Bootleg was included as an insert song.

The album debuted at #1 on the Oricon charts, with nearly 270,000 copies sold. She was the second best-selling female solo artist in the country this year.

"Moshimo Unmei no Hito ga Iru no Nara" was her single "Darling" after the long run on her single "Darling." The single debuted at number one on the Oricon charts, but it still managed to sell over 42,000 copies.
