Kacy Hill Life

Kacy Anne Hill (born May 1, 1994) is an American model and singer-songwriter who has been signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music.

She was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and had previously appeared on American Apparel as a model and a backup dancer on The Yeezus Tour for Kanye West.

In 2014, she released Experience, her first non-album single, independently, as well as an EP release scheduled for October 2015.

Foreign Fields, the EP's first single, was released in 2015.

In 2014, Hill was also #6 on Dazed and Confused's Readers' list and #29 on the Dazed 100 list, and #28 on the Dazed 100 list.

Early life

Hill was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and attended Arizona School for the Performing Arts. Emma Hill has a younger sister. She was influenced early on by music, playing the oboe and saxophone, and singing in choirs.

After being discovered by a wedding photographer, Hill began modelling at the age of 16. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a modeling career, which culminated in her role as the face of American Apparel. She fell into music after meeting Stephen Garnett, who later directed the video for her first non-album single release, Experience. Hill claimed that she never felt passionate about modeling. "It wasn't something I really wanted to do; it was something that was there; so I went after it."

Kacy Hill Career

Career

Hill served as a backup dancer for Kanye West during his 2013-2014 The Yeezus Tour. At the start of the tour, she had released Experience, a non-album single. Jaylien Wesley, also known as JAYLIEN, produced the song. Between her getting off a plane and going to a tour rehearsal, the artist's video was shot in ten minutes. After his show in Atlantic City, West was given a copy of the album and he immediately signed Hill to his GOOD Music label.

Hill's song "Experience" has gained international media attention, with Digi Spy naming it as a "track you should hear" and The BoomBox naming Hill as an artist to watch in 2015. In 2014, Hill was ranked #6 on Dazed and Confused's Readers' list and #29 on the Dazed 100 list, and #26 on the Dazed 100 list. Hill wrote songs that became part of her debut EP with GOOD Music after the release of "Experience." The songs, titled Bloo, were said to be a collection of what Hill wanted to achieve musically. The Express Tribune named her one of ten emerging music artists you should have on repeat. GQ magazine, which said "Hill's barrelling towards the big time," and NY Magazine, which said she was "ethereal yet catchy" and "one to watch," earned additional awards. Travis Scott's Rodeo's first big film was on the song "90210" on Travis Scott's Rodeo.

In December 2016, Hill released her debut album on the Internet. "Hard to Love," produced by Stuart Price and Oskar Sikow, and "Like a Lady," produced by DJ Mustard, Terrace Martin, and DJ Dodger Stadium, she released two singles in early May 2017. Both singles were revealed as lead cuts from Hill's debut studio album, Like a Woman, which was released on June 30th.

Hill also released "Dinner" on August 2018. Hill revealed on Twitter in May that she had left GOOD Music.

Hill's sophomore album If We Talk About Me Again independently was released in July 2020, with co-production from Hill herself, Francis and the Lights, and BJ Burton, as well as Cashmere Cat and Hill's now-partner Jim-E Stack, who inspired a portion of the album's songs. The album was "turned down by every brand," Hill said, "but it means the world to me." Critics of music publication Pitchfork praised the album as "Bright and open, with sounds that move and breathe with the artist." As of January 2022, the album has surpassed 15 million streams as of January 2022. In December 2020, she released a remix EP for the album. Hill co-authored "Like You Do" on Joji's Nectar album in September 2020, contributing to the Japanese-Australian singer-songwriter Joji's Nectar album.

Hill began teasing her third album via social media, and she appeared on the radio alongside Jim-E Stack and John Carroll Kirby. In July 2021, she stopped recording on the album. On August 27, 2021, she released "Seasons Bloom," a lead single starring Ariel Rechtshaid, Jim-E Stack, and Hill. On the 24th of September, Ethan Gruska, Jim-E Stack, and Hill produced "Easy Going" for another single. Simple, Sweet, and Smiling was announced for release on October 15, 2021, the same day. Critics loved the album, with Pitchfork describing it as "charming" and "imbued with a sense of lightness" on it. Hill's debut on the album, the Simple, Sweet, and Selfish Tour, as well as her previous album, will be released.

Hill's first self-produced song, "If I Could Say," was released in June 2022 via web3-based music website Sound.
