Justin Michael Rosenstein (born May 13, 1983) is an American computer programmer and entrepreneur.
He co-founded (along with Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz) and Asana's head of product.
Early life
Rosenstein grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and attended The College Preparatory School in Oakland, California. He was a highly regarded Lincoln-Douglas debater who was a hit in high school. He matriculated to Stanford University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics at the age of 20. He was a member of the Mayfield Fellows Program as an undergraduate.

Rosenstein lives in Agape, San Francisco's Mission District. He is vegan.
Rosenstein received 4.863 million Class B shares worth about $875 million per share while working at Facebook. In addition, he controls 16.2% of Asana, which is valued at $680 million based on a $4 billion estimate. Career
Rosenstein left Stanford's graduate program in computer science in 2004 to join Google as a product manager. Rosenstein, a project manager at Google, was leading projects in Google's communications and collaboration division. His ventures included Google Page Creator, the precursor to Google Sites, and a project codenamed "Platypus," which eventually became Google Drive. He also created and wrote the first prototype for Gmail Chat, as well as many of the other functionality in Google's rich text editor.
Rosenstein left Google to become Facebook's engineering lead in May 2007, closely collaborating with Mark Zuckerberg and Dustin Moskovitz. He was the technical lead in charge of Facebook's Pages, the Facebook Like button, and Facebook Beacon.
Rosenstein and Moskovitz co-founded Asana, a collaboration software firm founded in October 2008. Asana's website states that its goal is to "help humanity thrive by allowing all departments to work together seamlessly." He is a regular speaker on business and technology. In TIME, he has published research on how to build effective collaborative software in Wired, leadership and enterprise software development in Fast Company, and entrepreneurship in TechCrunch, as well as TIME.
