Julia Stone Life

Julia Natasha Stone (born on March 13, 1984) is an Australian folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

She is also a soloist and is the sister of Angus & Julia Stone.

The Memory Machine, her debut solo album, was published in September 2010.

By the Horns, her second solo album, was released in May 2012 and peaked at No. 132. ARIA Albums Chart Number 11 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Early life

Julia Natasha Stone was born on March 13th, 1984, and grew up in Sydney. Kim and John Stone, Kim and John Stone's parents, were both folk singers. Catherine (born ca. ) is Stone's older sister. Angus Stone, 1982), and her younger brother Angus Stone (born 27 April 1986). Stone attended Newport Primary School and Barrenjoey High School. She began teaching and her siblings at primary school, joining her father and her siblings. Stone played trumpet, Catherine on saxophone, and Angus on trombone, with Kim singing and John on keyboard or guitar at family gatherings when the kids appeared.

Stone, after finishing secondary school and visiting her brother in South America, was captivated by his musical skills, "[Angus] had taught me how to play guitar in Bolivia, and those songs had gotten me through the year." Stone began writing her own songs shortly after. Stone was playing open mic nights, often with back vocals, at the Coogee Bay Hotel – their first public performance. They formed Angus & Julia Stone in 2006 after playing split sets with each singing backing vocals to each other's songs. The pair premiered Chocolates and Cigarettes in March that year, which was released in August. Since then, the band has released five EPs, a compilation album, and four studio albums.

Down the Way, Angus & Julia Stone's second album, Down the Way (March 2010), debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and was rated 3 platinum in 2011. For 2010, it was Australia's best-selling album. The pair received ARIA Album of the Year for "Big Jet Plane" at the ARIA Music Awards in 2010. By the station's listeners, the track "Big Jet Plane" was voted at number one in the Triple J Hottest 100 in 2011.

Despite being lauded as a pair, Stone began her musical career to become a solo artist. Stone's debut solo album, The Memory Machine, charted on the ARIA Albums Chart in the top 100 in September 2010, after five years of recording and touring with the pair, and gained a following in the top 100. Fans and critics alike applauded the program. "Julia" is a term used to describe film posters created by British artist Caroline Pedler, according to Poppy Reid of The Music Network. The posters represent themes from each album; none of them, of course, feature Julia as herself.

At a sunrise concert at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery in June 2011, she sang backing vocals on "Do You Really Know" for The Flaming Lips and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. In August and New York, Stone sponsored Doveman, her collaborator.

Stone unveiled her second solo album, By the Horns, on May 25th, 2012, when she debuted at No. 1 in the world. On the ARIA Albums Chart, 11 artists appear on the ARIA Albums Chart. "[w]e had already been working on a new record together and it didn't feel right," Stone said while briefly visiting Angus. I was thinking, 'I'll make it now and we'll find out what happens when it happens.' "Then Angus and I were on the phone, and he'd been working on more stuff on his own as well, and we'd all agreed – we were all in the same room, ready to put together a set of our own songs." She appeared on the album in California, France, Australia, and India.

Julia's front cover version of "You're the One That I Want" has been seen on the UK and Irish television channels, as well as Sky's identification banner. After being broadcast on the commercial, the track made it to the UK iTunes charts.

Stone appeared on Jarryd James' single "Absolout" in 2015, a peak in Australia at number 48.

Stone unveiled a front edition of "Beds Are Burning" in February 2020. The song is the lead single from the Australian band Songs for Australia's collaboration album Songs for Australia's 5 March 2020 collection.

Stone had announced in July 2020 that she had signed BMG Australia, and that her third studio album, Sixty Summers, would be released on October 30, 2021. EiC Stone announced the unveiling of a Christmas album titled Everything Is Christmas in November 2021. Stone's accompanying statement read, "Christmas music has always been a wonderful and nostalgic part of my life." This is a record that I've always wanted to make. "It's been in my bag for so long."
