He is from the Harlem neighborhood in New York City and is a member of The Diplomats, a hip hop group (also known as Dipset).

Early life
LaRon James was born in New York City to parents of African-American and Dominican descent. He was raised in the Harlem section of Manhattan and began rapping at the age of 5.

After a 10-month probe by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and Gang Unit, Santana's recording studio in Bergenfield, New Jersey, was raided in January 2011. They found two loaded 9 mm handguns, boxes of ammunition, and 84 grams of marijuana.
Santana was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun without a licence, possession of a controlled dangerous drug, and intent to distribute a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school on February 2, 2011. Career
With Malik, a neighbor, James formed the rap duo, Draftpick, at 12, James formed the rap pair, Draftpick. The company first gained notoriety in New York City after several performances, including Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater, where they won two weeks in a row. When James was 15 years old, the two became Priority Records. Memphis Bleek and Tracey Lee appeared on the label's "Play Ruff" track.
James was introduced to Cam'ron by his cousin, Tobe, and soon after, he adopted the name Juelz Santana and became a member of his hip hop group, The Diplomats, alongside Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey. "What Means the World to You" by Santana was the group's first collaboration, followed by "Double Up" and "All the Chickens," on Cam'ron's second studio album, S.D.E., which was released on September 19, 2000 through Epic Records.

Santana's debut album, From Me to You, debuted on August 19, 2003, ranked 8 in the Billboard 200. The group was disbanded in 2007 due to rifts and differences between the various Dipset members. Cam'ron has sold his name to Def Jam, causing Santana to form the hip hop band Skull Gang and imprint Skull Gang Entertainment. On September 19, 2008, the company released the mixtapes Takeover and the Christmas-themed A Tribute to Bad Santa Starring Mike Epps with Jim Jones, as well as on September 25, 2008.
