Gary Maurice "Joyner" Lucas Jr. (born August 17, 1988) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, poet, and actor from Worcester, Massachusetts. Lucas' single "Ross Capicchioni" was widely distributed and lauded after the 2015 debut of his single "Ross Capicchioni" (Kods Capicchioni).

He debuted his fourth mixtape, 508-507-2209, in June 2017, his first on a major label.

Lucas posted his single "I'm Not Racist" on his YouTube channel on November 28, 2017. It went viral and gained critical acclaim.

At the 61st Grammy Awards, the video was nominated for the Best Music Video at the Grammy Awards, but it was disqualified for "This Is America," by Childish Gambino.

Lucas was previously signed to Atlantic Records before he announced his departure from the label in December 2018. Lucas has also been known for remixing famous hip hop songs.

In October 2018, he announced that his debut studio album ADHD would be released in the future.

Gary Maurice Lucas Jr. was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on August 17, 1988. He started rapping at the age of ten and attended South High Community School in Worcester, Worcester.

Joyner Lucas first began rapping under the name G-Storm but by 2007, he had changed his stage name to Future Joyner and started working with his cousin Cyrus tha Great, forming a group called Film Skool Rejekts. Workprint: The Greatest Mixtape of All Time was released in 2011 by the company. In 2011, Lucas' first solo mixtape titled Listen to Me debuted. Lucas stripped the word "Future" from his name and went forward as Joyner Lucas, the rapper who rose to fame. In 2013, LFO's (Low Frequency Oscillators) became his first mixtape under this new moniker. Along Came Joyner, his forthcoming mixtape, was announced on April 5, 2015. The critically acclaimed "Ross Capricchioni" was included in this mixtape. Lucas was included in the 2015 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher after the song's success. He was initially meant to appear in the online-only cypher and was later promoted to rap as part of the live broadcast cyphers based on his debut.

Lucas signed to Atlantic Records on September 21, 2016. Lucas continued to announce a project titled 508-222-208 on June 16, 2017, with Atlantic Records. On Billboard, the mixtape debuted at number 7 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, and it included hits such as "I'm Sorry," "Understand," "Just Like You," and "Winter Blues." Lucas has also been known for remixing famous hip hop songs since 2016.
