J Balvin Life

José lvaro Balvn (born May 7, 1985) is a Colombian reggaeton guitarist.

Balvin was born in Medelln, Colombia.

He immigrated to the United States at the age of 17.

He went to Oklahoma and New York to learn English and was inspired by the music he heard there.

He then returned to Medelln and rose to fame at clubs around the city.

He was the first Latino artist to be a Lolapalooza headliner. Farruko, a Puerto Rican singer, was the first to breakthrough on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in 2014.

He released Energia in 2016, which featured hits "Ginza," "Bobo," "Safari," and "Sigo Extraándote."

J Balvin and Willy William produced "Mi Gente" in June 2017.

"Mi Gente" dominated the Global Top 50 on Spotify on August 1, 2017, and YouTube gained one billion views on the same day.

He released Jeon and Anitta's hit single "Machika" in January 2018.

On the US Billboard Hot 100 number one single "I Like It," he worked with Cardi B and Bad Bunny, who was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Year of the Year. J Balvin has more than 35 million singles sales certified and 4 million albums sales rated worldwide as of 2019.

He has received five Billboard Latin Grammy Awards, four Latin Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and four Latin American Music Awards, as well as four Grammy Awards.

J Balvin has been named the Best Latin Songwriter of the Year in 2017 for his contribution to the latin music industry, despite the fact that his music is largely reggaeton.

Metallica and Nirvana, among other rock bands, and reggaeton musician Daddy Yankee were among his first musical inspirations.

Ozuna, Anitta, Nicky Jam, Alejandro Sanz, and Pitbull have all performed together.

Despite working with many English-speaking artists, including Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The Black Eyed Peas, Cardi B, and Major Lazer, J Balvin continues to perform almost exclusively in Spanish, and hopes to bring Spanish-language music to a global audience.

He is also known for his eclectic and colorful fashion sense.

Personal life

Balvin has addressed the Venezuelan economic crisis and the situation in Colombia, where thousands of Venezuelans have been forcibly deported. He called the situation "deplorable" and launched the social media campaign #LatinosFamilia (We Latinos are Family), urging followers to sign a petition to help the displaced victims. Other well-known Latin artists, including Colombian singer Maluma, signed the petition shortly. Balvin's campaign was revealed only after he had cancelled his appearance on Miss USA 2015 in protest against Donald Trump.

He favors LGBT rights, saying, "It's all about love." A majority of my closest friends are gay, and I've dyed his hair rainbow colors to show our love for Pride 2019.

When leaving the Bahamas in August 2016, the singer was involved in a plane crash. The plane failed to take off properly and crash landed just after leaving the runway. After landing in the bushes, he shared a snapshot of the tiny private plane on Instagram. Nobody was injured in the crash, and Balvin called it "a miracle."

Balvin has survived panic attacks and said that "meditation saved [his] life." "I forgot about my happiness when his anxiety reached its high point." José (his given name) was "forgotten." He is known for his tattoos and got his first tattoo when he was twelve years old. His mother suffers from acute intermittent porphyria, which causes seizures, chronic pain, and mental disorders. In her honor, he has the word "familia" tattooed on his chest.

Balvin, unlike many well-known reggaeton singers who migrate to the United States after gaining a following, lives in Medelln, showing, "It keeps me real." I'm sure to be real everywhere I go, but my people are important, and I'm in my country! I don't have to live somewhere else. I respect those who make it and leave their home base, but I'm fine in Colombia." He said he had a home in New York but he lives in Medelln.

Balvin contracted COVID-19 in 2020, but he has since recovered.

Balvin has been involved with the Argentina model and Miss Argentina 2014 Valentina Ferrer since 2018. A boy's first child, a boy, was born in New York City on June 27, 2021.

J Balvin Career

Life and career

Balvin was born in Medelln on May 7th, 1985, into a middle-class family. His father, an economist and company owner, grew up in a large house in the hills above the city. He grew up listening to rock bands like Metallica and Nirvana, and claims that he incorporates the grunge aesthetic into his personal style by sporting a Nirvana tattoo on his knee. After listening to Daddy Yankee, he became interested in reggaeton. "I was such a fan that I was imitating his style, the way he moved onstage, his flows, and his raps," he compares him to Jay-Z, the reggaeton equivalent of Jay-Z. His father's company went bankrupt, and the family lost their house and car, prompting the family to move to a poorer neighborhood. "When I'm going to the barrio, people see me as a wealthy person, but when I'm around wealthy people, they see me as someone from the ghetto." It's all about perceptions. I love traveling between cultures. I'm equally at ease in both directions.

When Balvin was 16 years old, he participated in an English-exchange program in Oklahoma but was dissatisfied with the results, saying, "I was hoping the United States that everybody knows from Hollywood." He migrated to New York City soon after the program to further study English and music, living with an aunt on Staten Island, and working as a dog walker. During his stay in New York, he was fascinated by the business acumencity of New York rappers 50 Cent and P. Diddy. Balvin worked in New York, Miami, and Medelln, as a roofer and house painter, as well as working illegally in the United States. He later returned to Colombia and began competing in various Medell's urban clubs, as well as increasing his social media followers. He studied international business at the prestigious EAFIT University in Medelln for seven semesters. At the age of 19, he began seriously considering a career in music and coined the stage name J Balvin "El Negocio," which means "The Business" in English.

In a freestyle brawl in Medelln, he met DJ and business partner David Rivera Mazo. The two became fast friends and started making and promoting their own music without the aid of a record label. Balvin's early recordings were described as "basically poor impersonations of commercial reggaeton from Puerto Rico," but he soon adopted a more relaxed, minimalist style in his music. He recorded his first album, "Panas," in 2004. He came to EMI Colombia in 2009 and shortly after launching the single "Ella Me Cautivó," which debuted at number 35 on the Billboard Tropical Songs chart, he landed at number 35.
