Jonathan Nolan Life

Jonathan Nolan (born 6 June 1976) is a British-American screenwriter, television producer, editor, and author.

He is the creator of the CBS science fiction film Person of Interest (2011–2016) and co-creator of the HBO science fiction western series Westworld (2016–present). Nolan has appeared in several films with his brother, director Christopher Nolan, who turned Jonathan's short story "Memento Mori" into the neo-noir thriller film Memento (2000).

The siblings co-wrote The Prestige (2006), The Dark Knight Rises (2008), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and Interstellar (2014), a mystery thriller film. Among other accolades, Nolan was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Memento, and for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for a Drama Series for Westworld.

Early life

Jonathan Nolan was born in London and was the youngest of three boys. Brendan Nolan is a British citizen, and Christina Nolan is an American. He was born in both London and Chicago. Nolan majored in English at Georgetown University and worked as a staff writer for The Hoya.

Personal life

After going to Chicago, Nolan discovered that having an English accent was extremely unpopular, so he learned to "sound like a good Chicago kid."

Nolan expressed surprise as he considered the artistic differences between himself and his brother, saying, "I've always suspected that it has to do with the fact that he's left-handed and I'm right-handed," he said because he's somehow able to look at my thoughts and turn them around in a way that is a bit more twisted and interesting." It's awesome to work with him in this way.

Nolan is married to Burn Notice writer and Westworld co-creator and executive producer Lisa Joy. They have a daughter and a son together.

Jonathan Nolan Career

Career

The film Memento was based on Nolan's short story "Memento Mori" by his older brother, director Christopher Nolan. Though Jonathan received a "based on a story by" credit not a screenwriting credit, the brothers received a nomination for Best Original Screenplay before the film was released.

Jonathan and Christopher co-wrote The Prestige, a film based on Christopher Priest's book of the same name. The brothers coproduced on the script for The Dark Knight, a 2008 film. The film went on to become the most financially successful Batman film, which has since been outrun by its sequel, The Dark Knight Rises.

CBS picked up Nolan's pilot Person of Interest on February 10, 2011 a flight of Interest. The program was officially picked up by CBS on May 13, 2011 to air in fall 2011. Jim Caviezel, Taraji P. Henson, and Michael Emerson appeared in five seasons. Nolan and J. J. Abrams were co-executive producers.

Nolan produced the screenplay for Interstellar, a science-fiction film based on Kip Thorne's career, who served as the film's executive producer. Christopher Nolan co-wrote, directed, and produced the film, which Paramount also distributed in the United States, while Warner Bros. distributed globally.

Nolan and Lisa Joy wrote a pilot for Michael Crichton's 1973 science fiction Western thriller of the same name. HBO had ordered a pilot for a movie on August 31, 2013, with Nolan, Joy, Weintraub, J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk as executive producers and Nolan's debut. The pilot was then adapted to television, with Nolan and Joy as co-showrunners, and premiered on October 2nd, 2016. HBO renewed the show in November 2016 for a second season, which began in April 2018. Following the first two episodes of Season 2, the series was renewed for a third season on May 1, 2018. For Amazon, Nolan and Lisa Joy agreed to produce The Peripheral.

"Westworld" by HBO after four seasons, apparently cancels

www.popsugar.co.uk, November 7, 2022
HBO has pulled the plug on its long-running sci-fi series "Westworld." The announcement comes just three months after its season four finale aired on August 14th. Longtime viewers of the dystopian drama were transported to a future in which consciousness, both human and artificial, can be harnessed and moved to other planes of existence where reality is more vivid, more realistic, and deadlier than ever imagined. For several people, HBO's decision to end the series abruptly, particularly after cliffhangers in season four left the plot line open for a final season. "I'm gonna miss all the badass women of Westworld." "Westworld deserved a good ending to this show," one Twitter user wrote, while another Twitter user said, "westworld deserved a fifth and final season."
