Early life
In Hainault, Essex, Antoine was born to John, a police officer, and Tracy, a housewife. Charlotte is his older sister.
Antoine attended West Hatch High School in Chigwell at the age of 11, met singing coach Jenny Ewington and head of music Ginette Brown. "I started taking lessons with Mrs Ewington and just got to it," he said. It was so nurturing. She was inspiring and she became a fantastic friend." After Antoine's voice died around the age of 13, Ewington selected "Bring Him Home" from Les Misérables for him to appear at the 2010 Stratford and East London Music Festival, where he was named Young Musician of The Year. As part of the Rotary Youth Makes Music festival in London in 2011, he sang "Ave Maria." Antoine auditioned for a junior position at London's four top music conservatories at 14. He attended all of them, and he chose the Royal Academy of Music. Brown at West Hatch invited him to perform to help him overcome his shyness. "Jonathan came into his own," she said. "All the students would see him and say that he had the most elographic voice."
Career
Antoine performed "The Prayer" at Ginette Brown's wedding in 2011. The duo Charlotte and Jonathan were conceived at the same time.
An audition video of the pair was sent to the Talent show Britain's Got Talent in 2012. It was revealed on May 13, 2012, the day after the Britain's Got Talent final, that Simon Cowell was in talks to give the duo a £1 million recording deal with his record label, Syco. On September 24, 2012 in the United Kingdom and on October 30 in the United States, they were offered a deal and released Together, their debut album. Perhaps Love, their second album, was released on October 14, 2013 after going from SyCo/Columbia Records to Sony Classical, their second album, Perhaps Love, was released on October 14th.
