He is best known for producing Titanic (1997), a film which won him an Academy Award and became the highest-grossing film of all time, the first ever to reach $1 billion in gross revenues. The film reached $1.84 billion, more than double the $914 million of then-record-holder Jurassic Park (1993). Titanic later went on to gross another $300 million in 2012, pushing the film's worldwide total to $2.18 billion, becoming the second film to ever hit $2 billion, as a result.

In 2009, Landau and James Cameron produced the science fiction blockbuster Avatar, which has since surpassed their earlier collaboration, Titanic, to become the new highest-grossing film of all time, with $2.80 billion. "Avatar: The Way of Water" Is Only the Second of Five Planned Avatar Movies

www.popsugar.co.uk, December 16, 2022
"Avatar: The Way of Water," by James Cameron, has been in the works for a long time — 12 years, to be precise. On Dec. 16th, the sequel premiered in theaters, introducing viewers to the Na'vi and their planet Pandora, which is under siege by humans who have burned out all of their natural resources and are now aiming for a new one. This weekend, viewers will have the opportunity to visit Jake Sully and Neytiri's family of 7, which includes three children of their own as well as two adopted children. "Avatar: The Way of Water" is Cameron's second Avatar film to reach theaters, but the franchise has a very optimistic vision. He's planning on a total of five Avatar films, and don't expect a decade-long break in between the next two because Cameron has just started shooting the third and fourth films, filming much of the third's live-action video at the same time as the second.
