York gave fans an update on his wellbeing, saying he's 'feeling really good' less than two months after being diagnosed with two blood and bone marrow disorders. In a clip, the General Hospital actor, 65, said, 'Hey there, everybody.' It's me and I'm checking in. 'I know what you're thinking - you're thinking, "Why did Mac shave his beard?"' He said, he had no idea. I didn't shave my beard,' I didn't do so. I actually shaved the little bits of hair that were still on display.'

The long-serving General Hospital actor chronicled how he was diagnosed with two forms of cancer in December last December, myelodysplastic syndromes and multiple smoldering myeloma, which are both blood and bone marrow disorders. In a recent interview with People, York discussed his transformation from being diagnosed with cancer to the traumatic moments when his wife and daughter were told, as well as the medications he has undergone, all while keeping a positive attitude through it all.
