John Tesh Career

Career

In the 1970s, his television work included stints as a news anchor and reporter at WSM-TV (now WSMV-TV) in Nashville, Tennessee, where he often covered the same stories as Oprah Winfrey, who worked at a rival Nashville station. From Nashville, Tesh, to WTVD in Durham, North Carolina, then down to WFTV in Orlando, and finally, to WCBS-TV in New York, where they were their youngest reporter at age 22. Tesh, a roving reporter for CBS during the 1978 New York City Marathon, which he ran and finished in 3:51:56, was a roving reporter for CBS. However, he became more popular when he co-hosted Entertainment Tonight from 1986 to 1996.

Tesh has also appeared on CBS and later NBC, anchoring events such as the Tour de France bicycle race from 1983 to 1986 (Tesh has the distinction of being the anchor for the first American broadcast of this event), the US Open, and gymnastics at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics.

Tesh hosted the short-lived One on One with John Tesh in 1991–92 on NBC daytime, and co-hosted John & Leeza From Hollywood with fellow Entertainment Tonight personality Leeza Gibbons from 1993 to 1994, as well as on NBC daytime. Tesh returned to syndicated television in the series Intelligence for Your Life TV, based on his radio show in 2014.

Tesh appeared in "The Icarus Factor," an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, in which she played a Klingon warrior. In 1987 episode of the daytime serial Santa Barbara, he appeared as himself.

Yanni was putting together his first touring band to market his album Out of Silence, as well as Keys to Imagination. Tesh asked Yanni if he could join the band as keyboardist, Joyce Imbesi, and drummer Charlie Adams, because he'd never been onstage for a live performance and needed the knowledge. Despite being in full-time with Entertainment Tonight and the long hours of rehearsal for the band, he did a good job, but he didn't appear in any of 12 shows, including the "1988 Concert Series," until being replaced by Bradley Joseph. Yanni later helped Tesh get his first recording deal with Private Music.

John Tesh was credited with the theme music to Bobby's World, hosted by Howie Mandel, and the NBA on NBC theme "Roundball Rock" in the 1990s. After an idea struck Tesh while traveling, he created the NBA on NBC theme. Tesh dialed the initial beat on his answering machine and left a note for himself in order to recall his dream at a later date. The NBA on NBC ran the story before the network stopped carrying NBA games following the 2001-02 season (as well as an electric guitar-driven spinoff that was used on NBC's WNBA telecasts from 1997 to 2002), but NBC will rewrite the script for its basketball coverage during the 2008 Summer Olympics. Tesh will eventually license the song to Fox Sports for its college basketball coverage.

John appeared at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, for his first Live at Red Rocks concert in August 1994. Tesh appeared with conductor John Bisharat and the 70-piece Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Tesh performed grand piano, Charlie Bisharat played electric violin, and Everette Harp played alto saxophone at the show. Nadia Comaneci (1976) and Bart Conner (1984), both Olympic gold medalists, were also included in a gymnastic routine specifically choreographed to Tesh's music.

Tesh retired from his ten-year career as co-host for Entertainment Tonight in 1996, and he began his career as a modern keyboardist. In 2003, he founded The John Tesh Radio Show.

The John Tesh Radio Show, which airs on adult contemporary, classic hits, Christian, and soft rock radio stations, is currently on sale in Tesh. Various factoids and other details are embedded in the music, which Tesh finds useful to listeners, often on topics such as diet and well-being.

These factoids are listed on radio stations around the United States and Canada, as well as the Armed Forces Network, "Intelligence for Your Life." Select pieces of "Intelligence for Your Life" are broken up and distributed in vignette form to other radio stations (including talk radio formats) and for use on morning radios. In addition, Connie Sellecca's "Intelligence for Your Wellbeing" is a three-hour weekend show.

Tesh's radio shows are available in all of its variations, putting it on the list of most listened-to radio stations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Delilah is Tesh's biggest competitor, and these two shows are occasionally broadcast on competing stations in the same region.

The show debuted on weekends on Clear Channel's KKDJ-FM/Bakersfield, then a few other stations, before expanding to a daily version in 2003. The service was originally syndicated by Westwood One under the name On the Air with John Tesh, but in a slightly different manner. Tesh has a 35-strong workforce and is now available by syndicator Westwood One, and it is also distributed by syndicator Westwood One. In September 2016, the partnership with Westwood One was revived in a new multi-year deal. Westwood One was on 280 radio stations at the time, according to the presenter.

Intelligence for Your Life TV, a television version of these factoids, debuted in syndication to local radio stations in late 2014. On 174 stations in April 2016, the television show was seen on 174 stations. Connie Sellecca's wife also hosts health segments based on her own radio show "Intelligence for Your Health."

In 2008, Tesh wrote Intelligence for Your Personal Growth, a book that was reprinted in 2012 (ISBN 084996463636, publisher Thomas Nelson).

In "Falling For Christmas," Lindsay Lohan says she was "Nervous" to Sing "Jingle Bell Rock."

www.popsugar.co.uk, November 11, 2022
Lindsay Lohan's latest film, "Falling For Christmas," has taken over Netflix Christmas movies, and it has a lot of festive carols, as in every great holiday movie. And, yes, Lohan does actually sing in the film, giving an outstanding interpretation of the classic "Jingle Bell Rock." Lohan assumed the job of reporting the event — and returning to the screen — with a serious agenda. In an 8-Nov. interview, she told Entertainment Tonight, "It was fun, but I was trepid." "I was [nervous] because I hadn't recorded in a long time and felt the pressure to do it in a way that people who had seen 'Mean Girls' would like it the same," she continued, referring to the scene in the 2004 film in which Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried accompanied the singer and dance along to the song in a school talent competition.

Billy Eichner addresses how the QUEER cast members in his latest gay rom com appear for straight roles

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 1, 2022
Billy Eichner, Variety's current front page actor, has defended his decision to have an all-queer cast even for straight roles in his gay rom com Bros. The decision came out of a 43-year-old's dissatisfaction with the number of meaty film roles, including gay ones that had gone to straight actors in the past. 'It's not about saying that a straight actor should never play gay,' he told Variety. We still need a more equal playing field,' but we do need a more balanced playing field.' It's about repairing a very bad situation.'
