Armand Mitzewich (born July 11, 1963), better known as "Chef John," is an American chef, video blogger, and YouTube celebrity who produces instructional cooking videos on the YouTube channel Food Wishes as well as a YouTube channel based on the same name.

Chef John also contributes to Allrecipes.com's online food network, where he also contributes to eCookbooks, recipes, and videos.

On YouTube, his video recipes have over 600 million views.

In 2011, he was named "Best Home Chef in a Series" by Taste TV Tasty Awards.

Career

In 1983, John Mitzewich graduated from Paul Smith's College, New York. He was awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree with Honors in Culinary Arts/Chef Education in 1983, and was also recognized as the school's 1983 "Outstanding Chef Training Student." Executive Sous Chef at Ryan's Café, Sous Chef at Ryan's Café, and Garde Manger at the San Francisco Opera have all held "just about every position imaginable" in the restaurant industry, including Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef. Mitzewich served as a Chef Instructor at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco for five years before deciding to focus on teaching people how to cook online.

He has worked with Allrecipes.com and published a cookbook titled "The Best of Home Cooking," a family favorite. He was named Best Home Chef in a series by Taste TV in 2011.
