Early life
Joe Santano was born and raised in Queens, New York, United States. He is of maternal Irish descent and paternal Italian descent. Elizabeth Barrett's mother, Elizabeth, was a public school secretary and Joseph, his father, Joseph, was a firefighter for the New York City Fire Department. Thomas, Keith, and Shannon are three older siblings. Thomas is a former Team USA athlete and national skeleton champion, and Keith has had a YouTube channel from 2015 to 2017 with over 100,000 viewers.
Santagato attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, Louis Armstrong Middle School, and St. Francis Preparatory School, where he served as a Bench Warmer for the championship-winning football team. Career
Santagato worked as a producer and editor for American online news website Elite Daily, as well as being featured on MTV's Guy Court before pursuing YouTube full time. Santagato had a YouTube channel named "SantagatoTV" and a well-known self-titled Vine account at this time. In May 2014, he renamed his YouTube channel to "Joe Santagato."
