James Nash Siedow (June 12, 1920 – November 20, 2003), also known as Jim Siedow, was an American actor best known for his role as Dr. The Cook" Sawyer in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and its sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

Life and career

Siedow was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He began performing in his high school drama class and then migrated to New York City, where he began appearing in theatre productions. Siedow served with the Army Air Forces during World War II, and after the war, Siedow moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she began doing radio work. Ruth, his wife's wife up to his death, met and married him in September 1946. They had three children.

Siedow and his family migrated to Houston, Texas, right after their marriage, where they began performing, building one of Houston's original community theatres. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? directed Houston's first production. Edward Albee, Edward Albee. Siedow appeared in his first film, The Windsplitter, in 1971, playing a character named Mr Smith. He continued his career as Dr. Ayton Sawyer in the 1974 Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Howard Ives in the 1976 film Red Alert, an unidentified role in the 1980 film Hotwire, and Drayton Sawyer, a sequel to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, were among his film appearances.
