He is a member of the Philippine dance group Streetboys.
Hilario began his career as a member of Makati City Council, first elected on May 9, 2016, in which he portrayed Butong; D' Anothers (2005), and Dekada (2002).
Hilario made his debut as an actor in 1996 and appeared on ABS-CBN's noontime show It's Showtime from December to January, 2012. Hilario began as a judge before being one of the program's hosts for four years.

Early life
Hilario was born in Asingan, Pangasinan, on August 11, 1976. He went to Bangkal's primary school. Elementary School II in Makati and Secondary School in Pasay from 1991 to 1995. In 1996, he enrolled in a high school home study course at the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports.

Career
Hilario began his career in 1993 as a member of the Streetboys, a dance group. In 1996, he made his debut as an actor.

Hilario has been a judge since 2012 and has been a participant of ABS-CBN's It's Showtime, beginning as a judge until becoming one of the program's hosts.
He appeared in the series "Ang Probinsyan" by FPJ's Homer "Alakdan" Adlawan, one of his best known roles. In 2019, he dropped the series in order to re-elect his councilor in the 2019 midterm elections.
Hilario was selected as one of the contestants of the third season of Your Face Face Sounds Familiar in 2021. However, after six weeks, beginning with a win in the first two weeks, Hilario withdrew from the competition for the safety of his family.
Hilario, who is a student at the University Nationalist Alliance and Abby Binay's ticket in 2016, decided to run for councilor in Makati's 1st district. Hilario cited his father, Virgilio Sr., who served as a councilor for nine years as the primary inspiration for his bid for the council seat in an interview. He was re-elected in 2019 and 2022.
