Early life
Barden was born in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, on July 21, 1992. She and her parents moved to Wetherby, West Yorkshire, when she was three years old. She attended Wetherby High School.
Personal life
Barden revealed on Instagram that she had given birth to her first child on October 19th 2021, and that it was a baby. Max Winkler, her husband and father of her children, is a filmmaker. She has moved to Judaism and lives in Los Angeles.
Career
Barden's acting debut came in 1999 with a small part in an episode of the television show My Parents Are Aliens. She appeared in episodes of No Angels and The Chase later in life. In March 2007, she began appearing as Kayleigh Morton on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, running until September 2008, when the Morton family moved to Coronation Street. Barden made her film debut in Mrs Ratcliffe's Revolution in 2007. She appeared in Pea in the stage performance Jerusalem at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2009 before being transferred to the Apollo Theatre in the West End.
Barden appeared in the film Tamara Drewe, a dramatization of the nameless comic strip. Sophie appeared in the film Hanna the following year. She appeared in the urban horror Comedown, costarred in the mystery film In the Dark Half, and was involved in Mindscape's psychological thriller. She appeared in the American independent film Lullaby in 2014. Barden appeared in the BBC's two-part television adaptation of Sadie Jones' debut novel The Outcast in July 2015.
