Jeremy Russell Gelbwaks (born May 22, 1961) is an American former child actor who appeared in The Partridge Family (1970–71).
Career
Gelbwaks was the first actor to portray Chris Partridge. After the first season, he left the series and was replaced by Brian Forster in 1971. Gelbwaks "had a personality clash with every actor in the cast and with the producers," according to Partridge Family co-star David Cassidy. In a 2005 interview with the Television Academy Foundation, Shirley Jones said Gelbwaks "was not keen doing [the show].. his parents wanted him to do it, so we replaced him."
He stopped acting after his family migrated to Reston, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C., where they stayed for a year and a half before heading to Connecticut and then to Potsdam, New York. Gelbwaks graduated from Hermon Dekalb Central School (Hermon, NY) in 1978 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Norman, his father, taught computer science at the State University of New York in Potsdam.
Gelbwaks graduated from college in 1982 and joined the University of Berkeley as a computer analyst. He worked in the computer industry before 1999, studied management at Columbia University, and became a leadership consultant. Patricia Polander married Patricia Polander and moved to New Orleans, where he works as a business and technology planner.
