Jennifer Lesley Ellison (born 30 May 1983) is an English actress, former glamour model, television personality, dancer, and singer.

Ellison is best known for her role as Emily Shadwick in the television soap opera Brookside, 2003, and in the 2004 film version of The Phantom of the Opera.

Ellison appeared on Dance Mums, the UK version of the American reality television show Dance Moms.

Personal life

Ellison attended Broughton Hall High School, a Catholic school for girls. She then attended St Edward's College for Sixth Form. She has two younger half-sisters. Kevin May and Jane May's parents divorced in 1986. Her mother remarried. She is close to her mother and stepfather David, who is a big sister.

Ellison and boxer Robbie Tickle began dating in May 2008 and were engaged in October of that year while on holiday in the Maldives. They married in Mauritius on October 10th, 2009, the following year.

Ellison has three children. She gave birth to her first son on February 4, 2010. It was a surprise when she learned she was expecting her second pregnancy. Ellison said, "I didn't even know I was pregnant until four weeks ago," and I'm almost five months pregnant now." I can't believe I'm expecting another baby in July. It's been a big surprise." On July 9, 2013 she gave birth to her second son, who was born on July 9, 2013. She gave birth to her third son on September 26, 2014.

Ellison was paid by Mirror Group Newspapers as a result of a phone hacking settlement.

Career

Ellison studied dance from the age of three, first at a dance school in Liverpool, and then at the Elizabeth Hill School of Dancing in St Helens. She has obtained examination passes with the Royal Academy of Dance and appeared in instructional videos for the academy. She has also participated in examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) and gained Ballet and Modern Dance titles at the IDTA Theatre Dance Championships in 1996 and 1997, and in addition, she was given the Carl Alan Award for ballet in 1998. She was accepted into the Royal Ballet Lower School after deciding to pursue a career in dance. She left dancing to pursue acting.

Ellison competed on Ice in 2012 and made it to the semi-final stages. Jennifer Ellison hosted Dance Moms on Lifetime, Dance Mums in the United Kingdom from 2014 to 2015.

Ellison appeared in Brookside's soap opera Emily Shadwick from 1998 to 2003. When she fell from a window during a robbery, her appearance was 'killed off.' Ellison appeared on the travel television show Hell's Kitchen in 2003, and she went on to win later this year. She appeared on the television competition show With a Little Help from My Family in 2005.

Ellison appeared on BBC reality TV show The Verdict, based on a fictional courtroom, in spring 2007, alongside Jeffrey Archer and Sara Payne. The same year, she appeared on Dirty Dancing – Time of your Life, a United States-based reality television program on the Living television network. Ellison embarked on a pop music career after success in television and men's magazines. She performed two pop rock singles before starting this venture out as a model and glamour actress. "Baby I Don't Care" was her first album, and it debuted in June 2003, where it debuted at No.. 6th place in the UK Singles Chart. Transvision Vamp first issued the song in 1989. Ellison's second single, "Bye Bye Boys," debuted in July and was brought back to the public eye after winning Hell's Kitchen. In the United Kingdom chart, 13 are ranked 13th.

Ellison appeared in the London West End stage adaptation of the musical Chicago from 10 July to August 6, 2006, this time at the Cambridge Theatre. Ellison was supposed to finish on August 12th, but she was forced to cancel three days early due to a knee injury. Ellison toured the United Kingdom in Chicago from 25 September 2006 to May 5th, 2007. Ellison appeared in the cast of a revived Boeing at the Comedy Theatre in London on October 1, 2007. She was born in the United States as Gloria, an American air stewardess working for the airline TWA.

She appeared in a 10th Anniversary Gala performance of Chicago in 2007, as well as a cast member, and on 16 December 2007, a contemporary retelling of the Christmas story for BBC Three that was performed live from the streets of the city.

Ellison appeared in Cilla Black and Les Dennis' pantomime version of Cinderella in 2009.

Ellison was included in Maxim magazine's "Girls of Maxim" gallery. Her photos appeared in British "lads' magazines" including Nuts, Zoo Weekly, and FHM regularly. Ellison took over, from Jordan, a lingerie behemoth with Ultimo's "Young Attitude" line. Despite the fact that Ultimo boss Michelle Mone had chosen Jordan for being "sexy, fun, and outgoing," she later changed her mind, saying, "Jordan was just the wrong choice for [us]. Jennifer is a much more cost-effective alternative and a lot more classy." Ellison was named the world's sexiest blonde by readers of Nuts magazine in 2005, defeating actress Victoria Silvstedt, who came second, and pop sensation Britney Spears. Ellison was also a regular in the FHM "100 Sexiest Women in the World" series.

Ellison released West End Workout, a fitness DVD that combined her passion of dancing with exercise routines, in 2006. Jennifer Ellison's Fat Blaster Workout was released in December 2011.

She is the recipient of the Carl Alan Award in 1998, the first national award given to dance professionals.

Dancing on Ice, an ice-based television series, starred her. Ellison and his trusted companion Daniel Whiston were voted out in the semi-finals and ended up in fourth place.

Jennifer Ellison will co-present a new Sunday morning Breakfast show alongside Drivetime Presenter Dave Kelly for the first five weeks before she was set to give birth.
