Jeffrey Steven Franklin (born January 21, 1955) is an American writer, screenwriter, and producer.
He is best known for his role as the creator of the ABC sitcom Full House.
Early life
Franklin was born in Inglewood, California, and raised in a Jewish family. Franklin graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1976. While working as a substitute teacher in his hometown before becoming a writer, Andre studied media production at UCLA.
Personal life
Franklin purchased 10050 Cielo Drive, the Tate murder site in 1969. The French country-style home was eventually demolished and replaced by a mansion built by architect Richard Landry. He listed another house built by Landry in the Hollywood Hills for sale in 2014.
Career
Franklin began his television career as a writer and producer for Laverne & Shirley and Bosom Buddies. In "House of Comics," Franklin's own show "House of Comics" featured three comics living together. Franklin was looking for a family sitcom, so the plan developed into the ABC network's Full House, which aired from 1987 to 1995.
Mr. Cooper, a supporting comedian, created Hangin' during the full House. In September 1992, Franklin retired from Hanging with Mr. Cooper. His other television appearances include writing and filming on shows including "It's Garry Shandling's Show" and Malcolm & Eddie. He wrote, produced, and directed the first Olsen twins film, To Grandmother's House We Go. Jeff Franklin had signed a 1991 contract with Lorimar, but the agreement was ended in 1993 so he could become a self-producing producer. In 1997, he had signed a contract with Columbia TriStar Television.

Netflix revealed on April 20, 2015 that it would pick up thirteen episodes of Fuller House, a sequel to Full House. Franklin, along with Robert L. Boyett and Thomas L. Miller, will produce the film. On February 26, 2016, all 13 episodes of the first season premiered. Due to competition and the inability to expand significantly, the series came to an end on June 2, 2020.

Jeff Franklin sued the showrunner, accusing co-executive producer Bryan Behar for orchestrating a plot aimed at getting him out of the show, to discredit Franklin and replace him. Franklin denied all charges of misconduct.
