Jaymes Young (born Jaymes McFarland; 1991-September 1, 1991) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist.

He debuted his first extended play, Dark Star EP, on September 9, 2013. On June 23, 2017, his debut album Feel Something was released.

Personal life

McFarland grew up in Seattle, Washington, and owes his varying obsession with music to his music-loving parents, two older brothers, and one younger sister. Coldplay, Radiohead, Maroon 5, Iron & Wine, and Death Cab for Cutie are among his musical influences. At the age of 14, McFarland began playing guitar and writing lyrics. Music has spawned creativity in terms of new and inspiration. His other passions, apart from music, include science and philosophy. He now lives in Los Angeles. McFarland, a member of a small Seattle-based band named Corner State, which released a single album in 2010.

Career

He was signed to a recording deal with Atlantic Records in 2013 and appeared with the trip hop band London Grammar. On September 28, 2014, he released Habits of My Heart, his second EP, on Atlantic Records, and opened for Vance Joy on the latter's "Dream Your Life Away" tour. On Guetta's 2014 album Listen, he appeared alongside Birdy in David Guetta's "I'll Keep Loving You." He collaborated and appeared on two tracks, "Hometown Girl," which was based on Meghan Gier and Benjamin Griffith's union and "Cold Blooded," which was based on Jaymes Young's life at a young age. The songs were eventually included in ZHU's debut studio album Generationwhy, which was released on July 29, 2016.

He released his debut album "I'll Be Good" on June 23, 2017 on RIAA-certified gold. He released the standalone single "Happiest Year" on July 12, 2019, which went viral, and was also certified gold on July 12, 2019. "Infinity" from his debut album in 2021 debuts at #1 on TikTok's Viral chart, and it has soared on streaming platforms. He is currently working on his next project.
