Early life and education
Jane March Horwood was born in Edgware, London, in March. Bernard Horwood, her father, was a geography and technology secondary school teacher of English and Spanish origins. Jean, Jean, a newsagent, is Vietnamese and Chinese. One brother, a landscape designer, lives in March.
March took home a local "Become a Model" competition at age 14, despite not attending Nower Hill High School in Pinner, north London. She joined Storm Model Management and began modelling as a print model using the same middle name as her birth month.
Personal life
Although Color of Night was on display, March began dating Carmine Zozzora, the film's co-producer. Willis was the best man and Demi Moore was the maid of honor at an 11-minute wedding in June 1993. March received several calls from Hollywood studios following the film's launch, but Zozzora requested that the studios also hire him as the producer for any film in which March would appear, a request that most studios turned down. Because of this, March did not appear in any other films during their marriage.
In 1997, March and Zozzora were married and then divorced in 2001. March married Steven Waddington a few years ago; they now have one child.
Career
March went to a Wimbledon apartment with colleagues and continued to model until she was called to audition in Paris on her 17th birthday after a cover shoot of Just Seventeen that had captured French director Jean-Jacques Annaud's wife's interest. In 1992 film The Lover, based on a semi-autobiographical book by Marguerite Duras, March was selected to play the female lead.
Barbara Willis co-starred with Bruce Willis in the erotic thriller Color of Night (1994), directed by Richard Rush, two years since The Lover. The script was the first March had seen since The Lover. Color of Night became a box office disaster, but the film went on to do well in the home video market and became one of the top 20 most rented films in the United States in 1995. Her sex scene in the film was also rated by Maxim magazine as "the Best Sex Scene in film history."
