James Lafferty Career

Career

Lafferty made his small-screen acting debut in the made-for-television film Annabelle's Wish in 1997, at the age of 12. Since appearing on television shows such as Once and Again, Get Real, and Boston Public, Lafferty has appeared on television shows such as "Once and Again." In 2002, Lafferty appeared in the ESPN made-for-television film A Season on the Brink, an adaptation of John Feinstein's book of the same name. The film focuses on Indiana University's college basketball team's 1985-86 seasons.

In 2003, Lafferty appeared in his breakout role of Nathan Scott on The WB/The CW teen drama series One Tree Hill. Nathan and Lucas Scott, two distant half-brothers who are put on the same basketball team, are the subject of a series that has questioned Nathan's status as the main character. The CW renewed the series for a ninth and final season in May 2011, for which Lafferty returned on a recurring basis rather than in a full-time actor role. Lafferty produced four episodes over the course of the later seasons. During his time on the series, he received four Teen Choice Award nominations.

In February 2008, Lafferty was cast in the straight-to-DVD sequel to the cult film Donnie Darko. The film, entitled S. Darko, was released in May 2009 and received mainly critical feedback from critics. In April 2011, Lafferty was confirmed to appear alongside One Tree Hill castmate Stephen Colletti and brother Stuart Lafferty in a planned adventure reality television series called Wild Life: A New Generation of Wild, for which he was an executive producer. A pilot episode was shot, but the series was unable to find a home on the internet. Mr Nash played Lafferty in the NBC crime drama Crisis in 2013. This was followed by Jimmy Adams' lead role in the independent film Waffle Street, alongside Danny Glover, and being cast in a recurring role during WGN America's slave drama Underground's first season. Lafferty produced an episode of E!'s second season in August 2015. During season three, drama series The Royals returned to direct a few more episodes.

FEMAIL lays bare the horrific tales from within a CULT on One Tree Hill's 20th anniversary

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 23, 2023
It's been 20 years since the teen stars of One Tree Hill first graced television screens. However, reports of sex crimes against some of its female actors, writers, and crew members suffered at the hands of showrunner Mark Schwahn have surfaced in those 20 years. Hilarie Burton, Chad Michael Murray, Sophia Bush, James Lafferty, and Bethany Joy Lenz followed their young adult characters' lives through their four years as they shape their careers and their friendships change. Audrey Wauchope, a writer from One Tree Hill, took to Twitter in 2017 to accuse Schwahn, 51, of sexual harassment and emotional abuse. Hilarie Burton, Sophia Bush, and Bethany Joy Lenz, three of the show's female leads, joined Wauchope's allegations, as did fifteen other actors, female writers, and crew members, who spoke out about their personal experiences of being'manipulated physically and emotionally.' On top of all this, the cast members' personal lives have been similarly turbulent. Here are all the wild tales about One Tree Hill, from Benz's admission to being in a cult for ten years to Murray's roller coaster love story.
