Early life
Susana Dzhamaladinova was born in Osh, SSR, to a Muslim Crimean Tatar father and an Armenian mother. Her Crimean Tatar ancestors were forcibly transferred from Crimea to the central Asian republic under Joseph Stalin during World War II, although her own relatives fought on the Soviet side. In 1989, her family returned to Crimea. Suleimanov recently graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Departments of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv's Physics and Mathematics Department and is a student of the Muslim Crimean Tatar party.
Jamala revealed in November 2017 that she and Suleimanov were expecting their first child together. Their son, Emir-Behman Seit-Bekir ogly Suleimanov, was born on March 27, 2018.

Career

Jamala's album "1944" appeared in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "1944."
