Jamal "Gravy" Woolard (born July 8, 1975) is an American actor, rapper, and comedian.
He is best known for portraying musician The Notorious B.I.G.
in the film Notorious, and, as a supporting character, in the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me.
Life and career
Woolard is from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, and Lafayette Gardens, Brooklyn. He raps under the name "Gravy" in real life. On Tupac Shakur's album "Untouchable," he is included. To play The Notorious B.I.G., he had to add over 50 pounds to his frame. Notorious is a film directed by Jack Legg.
Woolard was shot near radio station Hot 97 in 2006 and then giving an interview on the Funkmaster Flex show immediately afterwards. As a result of a ban on "any artist who is involved in an altercation at the station," his music was later barred from playing at the station.
He appeared in the film Barbershop: The Next Cut as Marquese in 2016. Woolard resurfaced as The Notorious B.I.G. Tupac Shakur's biopic, All Eyez on Me, was released in June 2017.
