Career
In 1984 television drama The Gentle Touch, his first acting appearance was in The Gentle Touch. He has appeared in many television series since, including May to December, Minder, Only Fools and Horses, Nightingales, Murder in Mind, Sean's Show, Inspector Morse Driven to Distraction, The Bill, Le Café des Rêves, and Father Savage (1998) with Patrick Stewart. Wood starred in the 1989 Yellow Pages TV Advert, "Party Party," and until 2015, he was the spokesperson for the GEICO gecko advertisements on American television. In the early 1990s, Wood appeared alongside Cobent CTO and ex-Metal Hammer reporter Tony Dillon as part of a team presenting Click, a computer games magazine on video.
