Jake One Career

Early life and career

Jacob Brian Dutton was born in 1976 and grew up in the Central District and moved to Seattle's North End when he was 15. In 1992, he began playing music on a Casio keyboard. He attended the University of Washington and gave a tape of his music to a friend who worked in a local record store. The DJ Mr. Supreme, one of the store's other employees, heard the tape, and when he launched his Conception Records company, he used Dutton to create backing tracks. Eclipse's "World Premier" was the first record he produced. Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, and Marley Marl were among his early influences.

Professional wrestler John Cena's "The Time Is Now" was Jake One's 2005 album "The Time Is Now"; it has been Cena's entrance theme since.

He was a member of the G-Unit production team, The Money Management Group. On October 7, 2008, Jake One, Young Buck, De La Soul, M.O.P., Freeway, D.Black, Slug, Keak da Sneak, and Khaledosin, which was the first album credited to him.

He has appeared on the soundtracks to films such as "I Don't Know Officer"), The Fast and Furious ("Jake Alert"), and Gone Baby Gone.

Jake One released two collaborative albums in 2010, The Stimulus Package with Freeway and Patience with Truthlive.

Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color on Rhymesayers Entertainment were two of Brother Ali's complete albums Mourning in America.

MTV News is back to see what lies ahead: These essays explore how today's blueprint was conceived a decade ago. Now is the time machine. It's difficult to recall memories of 2012 without Fun's Some Nights spinning in the background. The pop-rock band's frenetic, dramatic sophomore album came as a atom bomb, with lead singles "We Are Young" and "Some Nights" eliciting fears of how both genres might look when combined for a new decade.
