Jake Lacy is an American actor.
He is best known for his role as Pete Miller on the ninth and final seasons of The Office, as well as as a co-lead on ABC's Better with You (2010–11).
In the 2014 film Obvious Child, he starred with Jenny Slate and opposite Rooney Mara in Carol (2015).
In Love the Coopers in 2016, he appeared as Nick Beverly on the Showtime show I'm Dying Up Here (2017–18).
Early life
Lacy grew up in Vermont. He was born in Pittsford and attended Otter Valley Union High School, graduating in 2004. Lacy graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) in Winston-Salem in 2008. After graduation, he worked odd jobs in New York's state. Before being portrayed in the role of Casey in Better with You, he served as a gym receptionist, a bar-back at a club, and a waiter.
Personal life
Lacy married Lauren Deleo, a long-time girlfriend, on August 22, 2015 in Dorset, Vermont; they have two sons.
In the 2016 US presidential race, Lacy supported Senator Bernie Sanders but also said that people should not necessarily listen to politicians for political reasons.
Career
In the productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream as Demetrius (in Hartford Stage's production), and Much Ado About Nothing as Conrad (in the Oberon Theater Ensemble's production), Lacy starred in high school and appeared on professional stages. Lacy appeared in a few episodes of Guiding Light before its cancellation. He appeared in the Columbia thesis film C'est moi in 2010.
Lacy appeared in ABC's Better With You from 2010 to 2011. In the ninth and last season of The Office, Pete Miller, or "Plop," appeared.
