Pierce the Veil is an American rock band from San Diego, California.

Vic and Mike Fuentes, brothers, formed the band Before Today (formerly Early Times), which was formed out of the San Diego punk rock scene in 2006.

Pierce the Veil has released three studio albums and toured around the world since the introduction of their debut album, A Flair for the Dramatic in 2007.

In 2010, the band Untitled Machines, their second full-length studio album, was released.

Collide with the Sky, their third album under the Fearless Records brand, was released in 2012.

The album debuted at No. 1 with the hit first single "King for a Day." The Billboard 200 is ranked 12 on the Billboard 200.

Misadventures, their fourth and most recent album, was released on May 13, 2016.

The Dramatic's Beginnings and A Flair (2006-2009)

After the disbandment of Before Today, Pierce the Veil was founded by Mike Fuentes and Vic Fuentes in 2006. The brothers continued to write songs together and then came up with enough material for a new full length album. They produced and recorded an entire album in Seattle, WA, with producer Casey Bates, who is also backed by their brand Equal Vision Records. On June 26, 2007, the brothers released A Flair for the Dramatic, which is derived from a song of the same name from A Celebration of an Ending. Pierce the Veil acquired new members Tony Perry (lead guitar) and Jaime Preciado (bass). Pierce the Veil toured for about three months after the debut of A Flair for the Dramatic. They've performed with bands like A Day to Remember and Chiodos. From first to last, Emery, Sleeping With Sirens, The Devil Wears Prada and Mayday Parade have been on tour.

Pierce the Veil did one date on the Vans Warped Tour in 2007, and they were on the whole tour in 2008. In 2008, they joined the Bamboozle Left. Breathe Carolina, Four Letter Lie, and Emarosa were among their first headlining tours, called The Delicious Tour, which took place in October–November 2008. They came to an end with the Taste of Chaos 2009 tour and Bring Me the Horizon on Thursday, the four Year Strong and Cancer Bats. Vic and Mike Fuentes of Ayrton Jara have confirmed to be included in the forthcoming project and supergroup Isles & Glaciers, which features vocalists Craig Owens of Chiodos and Jonny Craig of Emarosa. On March 9, 2010, the "supergroup" released its first EP, The Hearts of Lonely People. However, Isles & Glaciers has broken up, saying that "Isles & Glaciers was just a one-time thing."

Pierce the Veil revealed that they were already recording new material for their forthcoming album in August 2009. The band departed Los Angeles to record their album Selfish Machines with producer Mike Green after a few months off the road and building excitement for their sophomore debut. "The name refers to human being and the animal-like characteristics inside each of us that we try and hide, but we should learn to accept." We are all selfish machines, and we have natural urges to want, love, and take." Selfish Machines was first introduced on June 21, 2010, under Equal Vision Records, and it ranked No. 1 in the world's longest running machines. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The band appeared at a number of festivals in support of the album's launch, including Bamboozle Left, South by Southwest, Never Say Never Festival, and the Vans Warped Tour. In addition, the band provided a cover of "Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Yster Cult's classic song "Don't Fear" for the Punk Goes Classic Rock collection, which was out on April 27, 2010. They also co-headlined the second leg of Escape the Fate's headlining tour "The Dead Masquerade." The band was supposed to embark on their first ever South American Tour supporting Sum 41 in September but due to the illness of Sum 41's frontman, the tour was postponed. They finished up the year touring Europe with blessthefall and co-headlined the No Guts No Glory Tour with Miss May I after. They appeared on Punk Goes Pop 4's Punk Goes Pop 4, covering Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" which was released on November 21, 2011.

Bulls in the Bronx, the second single, was released three weeks later on June 26, 2012.

The band appeared on the Vans Warped Tour from June 16, 2012, to August 5, 2012, for the first time. They were often joined on stage by Kellin Quinn to perform the song King for a Day. Pierce the Veil embarked on their first headlining tour in the United Kingdom, selling out almost every date. In an interview with Alternative Press, Vic Fuentes said that the band was planning for a 2015 launch date rather than a 2014 launch date. The reason for the delay was owing to the band's being several weeks behind due to two songs on the band's record while recording the new album with producer Dan Korneff. The band's hopes for a 2015 release date didn't materialize, as the album was pushed back for a later date. This publication date will be confirmed in May 2016.

Mike Fuentes, a drummer from the United States, was accused of soliciting nude photos and statutory rape by a young lady in November 2017. The incidents were reported to have occurred roughly a decade ago over the course of many years. The two reportedly started communicating on MySpace before meeting for the first time at a Pierce the Veil concert for the first time. At the time, Fuentes was 24 years old, a legal minor in California's state of California. After meeting again at a concert during the Warped Tour, the woman said they had sex. The marriage was said to have lasted until she turned 18 years old. Mike Fuentes was not indicted on suspicion of this allegation in public.

A second woman accused him of requesting nude photos when she was a child in December 2017. She accused him of posting her remarks on Twitter anonymously. The woman said they first met at Warped Tour in 2008, when she was 14 years old and exchanged phone numbers. Fuentes reportedly demanded nude photos from her when she turned 15 years old.

Fuentes and the remainder of the band released a statement later this month stating that Mike Fuentes would step down as drummer to "concentrate on his personal life." With All Time Low, the band announced a hiatus and scrapped their tentative 2018 UK tour. Mike Fuentes was not charged with formal charges for this allegation.

Vic Fuentes, a singer and guitarist who appeared on social media on July 5, 2018, confirmed that he is working on the band's fifth album. The official band of the UK revealed on Twitter in February that they were still working on the project.

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band performed a home rehearsal of their track "Hold On Till May" on YouTube on April 13, 2020. Mike Fuentes, a former member of the band, appeared on stage, but the band did not specify whether or not he had officially returned as a member of the band. Mike Fuentes' reaction to the show was mixed, with listeners becoming outrage on social media over the sexual charges surrounding him, despite the band's refusal to comment specifically beyond the original 2017 statement. Mike left the band in 2017 and will not be seen on the new album until August 24, 2020.

The band performed the single "Pass the Nirvana" at midnight on September 1, 2022.
