Early life
Jaden Smith was born in Malibu, California, the son of actor Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. Trey Smith (born 1992) and Willow Smith, his younger sister (born 2000), are among his many cousins. Smith attended New Village Leadership Academy before being homeschooled by his parents. Smith's fame as a result of his appearance in films such as The Pursuit of Happiness and his parents, who are both well-known actors, led to his being excluded from having a normal childhood, which he has discussed at length. He began skateboarding.
Project Zambi, which provides support to Zambian children who have been orphaned by AIDS, was led by Smith and his siblings.
Personal life
Will Smith, Smith's father, revealed that his son, with the permission of his parents, obtained an emancipation ruling as a gift for his 15th birthday. Smith's main aim, according to Will, is that his children are not subject to stringent parenting rules: "We generally don't believe in punishment." We'll all remember Jaden from his childhood to six years old, and all we'll need to do is be able to tell him why what he did was the right thing for his life." Smith and his father appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show together on May 15, 2013, Smith said:
Smith converted a $4 million home in Hidden Hills in June 2017.

Smith sparked controversy in 2013 when he attacked traditional education and advised people to avoid attending classes. "Bods who go to public school are so teen," Smith said.
Smith dated Sarah Snyder from 2015 to 2017. Snyder's debut album, Syre, inspired a number of songs on Smith's debut album, Syre.
Smith is a vegetarian. He founded a mobile restaurant that served free vegan dinners to the homeless (but others pay when they dine). Following a rapid decline in health that resulted in his skin turning gray, his parents were forced to stage an intervention. He was later diagnosed with lactose intolerance and celiac disease. Smith's declining health did not prevent him from returning to vegetarianism.
Smith has stated that rapper Tyler, the Creator, is his boyfriend, beginning in November 2018. Tyler, a bisexual man, denied this assertion. Tyler admitted that his sarcastic claims were sarcastic in the album "NOIZE" on Erys in 2019.
Smith has been dubbed a non-binary icon for his work in popular media that has questioned traditional gender roles. He is often seen in gender-fluid clothing, wearing dresses, skirts, and high heels. He attracted attention for wearing traditionally feminine clothing in his Vogue Korea article in 2016: a black skirt, blue nail polish, and a flower in his hair. "If I Want To Wear A Dress, Then I Will," he says in public remarks, "If I Want To Wear A Dress, Then I Will, And That Will Be The New Wave." Smith was reported as saying that wearing skirts would have ultimately helped students be bullied less in classes.

For his role, Smith won the award for Breakthrough Performance at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards. Smith also had a voice acting role in Neo Yokio and a role in Nashville as himself. Commenting on his break from acting, he said "The kinds of roles I was being offered weren't exactly what I was looking for, nothing felt really necessary that I needed to be in until this came along".
