Career

Galaxy moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 1992, and was a rock star. He learned about cat behavior by doing his volunteer work with rescue dogs, first with the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. After working there and at other animal shelters, he moved to private practice as a cat consultant in 2002, co-founding Little Big Cat, Inc. with Dr. Jean Hofve, a holistic veterinarian. They worked together to provide cat owners with advice focusing on the relationship between physical and behavioral health.

Galaxy moved to Los Angeles in 2007, where he re-established a private consulting firm.

Galaxy works with animal shelters and rescue groups, demonstrating his "Cat Mojo" approach to feline behaviour to volunteers, employees, and adopters.

He serves on the board of directors of Stray Cat Alliance and Fix Nation in Los Angeles, as well as the Board of Advisers for Neighborhood Cats in New York City.

Galaxy has appeared as both the official cat behavior expert on Animal Planet's Cats 101 and as the official cat behavior expert for Game Show Network's Think Like a Cat.

Galaxy has been cast in My Cat From Hell, a reality TV series produced by Animal Planet in which he helps cat guardians—often couples—resolve conflicts and behavioral issues between them and their cats. He has been hosting Cat Mojo on the Animalist Network since December 2013, where he shares his thoughts on cat-related topics such as declawing, using squirt guns, and behind-the-scenes accounts.

Galaxy is the author of books about cats and a process called "catification" that involves the creation of cat-friendly spaces within a house. In 2012, he published Cat Daddy: What the World's Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life, Love, and Moving Clean.
