In 2009, Evancho first caught record producer David Foster's attention. She was chosen for the regional semifinals of his "Hitman Talent Search Contest" in September 2009, finishing as runner-up, and she appeared in the "David Foster & Friends" concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in October 2009.

Evancho's debut album, Prelude to a Dream, was released in November 2009 by the artist. The album contained mainly covers of classical crossover hits like "Con te partir," "The Offering," "To Where You Are," "Concrete Angel," and "Amazing Grace." It debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. 121, and No. 10 are the best in the world at this moment. Evancho was accepted as a contestant on NBC's America's Got Talent (AGT) in its fifth season by placing first in the 2010 YouTube competition after two previous unsuccessful auditions for the show. Beginning with television interviews and performances with The Oprah Winfrey Show in October 2010, Evancho promoted the album. Martha Stewart Living and Fox & Friends were among her previous appearances on The Today Show, The View, Martha Stewart Living, and Fox & Friends. On NBC's Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting special in Pittsburgh, Evancho appeared in the 2010 National Christmas Tree lighting on The Tonight Show and the 27th annual Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade in Washington, D.C. on ABC television.

The RIAA has rated 1 on Billboard's Classical Albums Chart, and the RIAA has rated it as gold on the RIAA. Evancho's debut on this album made him the youngest artist to debut in the United Kingdom in the top five. The collection includes hits ("Angel"), classical arias ("Ombra mai fu"), and original songs, including the title track, for which Evancho contributed to the lyrics. Duets with Barbra Streisand ("Somewhere") and Susan Boyle ("The Prayer") are also included in the book. Target also had a deluxe version with four bonus tracks. Evancho's "sweet, unblemished vocal tone and slow, careful vibrato are allmusic's best features out of five, and USA Today noted that Evancho's "unblemished vocal tone and careful vibrato hardly betray her youthful age." ... Evancho performed the album on television and at concerts. Her first solo concert television special for the 2011 PBS Great Performances series featured performances of mainly the same songs as the album. The special, titled Dream With Me In Concert, was the year's best television show on PBS. "It was one of the most watched specials in the 38-year history of the Great Performances series [and] raised record amounts of money for PBS stations." Evancho was the first person to have a special edition on the show. David Foster, joined by Conrad Tao, was the show's host. The CD/DVD combination debuted at No. 1 in the U.S. 1 on Billboard's Top Music Video Charts. In July 2011, the singer's first solo tour of the United States to promote the album began in July 2011. Rob Mounsey produced Heavenly Christmas, Evancho's 2011 Christmas album. The selections include classic Christmas carols such as "First No.l" and "O Little Town of Bethlehem," as well as modern songs such as "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "White Christmas" (from the 1982 animated short film The Polar Express). In October 2012, the album was first released in the United States and elsewhere in the United States.

The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Albums chart, at No. 10. No. 1 on the Holiday Albums chart stands at No. 1. 3, and at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 at No. 3, with a record of No. 3. 11. It reaches its high point at No. 1. On the Canadian Albums chart, 9 is number 9 on the chart. "Evancho's vocals are as good as ever," Allmusic's review puts it into perspective, adding that the album has few moments of bombast." The album was rated "A" by the Salt Lake City Tribune. Evancho "sounds like she's channeling a past life, a dream self, or even a true angel," Christopher John Farley of The Wall Street Journal wrote.

The View, The Talk, and The Tonight Show were among Evancho's television appearances to promote the album. In December 2011, she appeared in Buffalo, New York; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Pittsburgh. Billboard ranked Heavenly Christmas as the No. 1 on the 2011 year-end charts. The year's best-selling Classical Album of the year. It was ranked No. 1 on the charts. On the 2012 year-end Canadian Albums chart, 41 people were on the 41st position.

Songs from the Silver Screen, Evancho's fourth full-length film, was released on October 2, 2012. The album features songs from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory's whimsical ("Pure Imagination"), Disney songs ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from Tangled), anthems ("My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, featuring Joshua Bell, violin), and romantic standards ("Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific). "The Summer Knows" from Summer of 42, starring Chris Botti, trumpet, and "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge! The album received three stars out of five by an Allmusic review.

Jackie Evancho of the PBS Great Performances special on 2012 has virtually identical selections as the album. In August 2012, Evancho joined the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra on a 42-stop tour to promote the album. Concerts were held in two dozen North American cities from June 2013 to June 2013. In late 2012, Evancho appeared and was interviewed on television shows on NBC, ABC, Fox, Fox, and CNN. From late 2013 to August 2014, a second leg spanned the globe.

On September 23, 2014, Evancho released Awakening, her fifth full-length album on Sony Masterworks' Portrait Records label. Evancho launched the album in November 2014 and continued into 2016, including a third PBS special. The album includes classical works such as Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise" and the art song "Dormi Jesu"; classical crossover covers of more recent works such as Lara Fabian's "With or Without You" and "Memories"; and several original songs. Six bonus holiday songs were included in Walmart's deluxe edition. "The Rains of Castamere" from Game of Thrones, "Think of Me" from The Phantom of the Opera, Ennio Morricone's "Your Love" and the Vavilov version of "Ave Maria" are among Evancho's recorded songs from the collection.

During the show's ninth season, Evancho performed the album in a return to America's Got Talent as a guest artist at Radio City Music Hall. She appeared on NBC's Today Show, The Queen Latifah Exhibition, The Oprah Winfrey Network, and the Dr. Phil show. Evancho's Awakening Tour began in November 2014 with stops around the United States and one concert in each of Costa Rica and Canada. Awakening: Live in Concert (2014), Evancho's third PBS special, as well as "My Immortal," "Say Something," as a duet with Jackson and "O Mio Babbino Caro," is included in Awakening's third PBS special, as well as "O Mio Babbino Caro." For a string of 72 weeks, the album remained on the Billboard Classical Albums chart for a row.

On October 28, 2016, Evancho unveiled her sixth full-length album and third holiday collection, Someday at Christmas. The album features nine previously released tracks, including collaborations with Plácido Domingo, Peter Hollens, and Vittorio Grigolo, as well as three new tracks: "Someday at Christmas" by Stevie Wonder and two versions of "The Little Drummer Boy," one with Il Volo. Dina Fanai and Heather Holley produced the new songs. Robert Kinkel, formerly of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, has arranged arrangements. The album reached its high point at No. 10. No. 93 on Billboard 200, No. 93. The Billboard Classical Albums chart ranks 1 (Evancho's sixth straight debut to do so) and No. 3 on the Billboard Holiday Albums chart. It was the No. 1 on the charts. This year, the best-selling classical album of 2016. The Gazette's review called the album "a shimmering showcase for [Evancho's] wide range and passions. [The] duets in this project showcase her harmonies as well as tender melodies."

Evancho promoted the album on the Fall 2016 cover of, and in an interview with Inspiring Lives Magazine. She performed on NBC's Today Show, Fox's Good Day Chicago, and the Harry show in her 2016 holiday concerts, as well as the America's Got Talent Holiday Spectacular and the Harry exhibit.

On Sony's Portrait label, she unveiled her seventh full-length album, Two Hearts, on March 31, 2017. It consists of an "album of classical crossover songs" with an EP of [five] pop tunes included, four of which she co-wrote. Evancho's debut was the first time she had included her own songwriting (other than contributions made in 2010 to the lyrics of the title song Dream With Me). The four songs on Evancho's EP were produced and co-writers by Fanai and Holley.

Evancho began promoting the album around the end of her 2016–2017 Live in Concert Tour tour. The Today Show, NBC's New York Live, and ABC's The View were among television broadcasters. Evancho appeared at Café Carlyle in New York City in April 2017, where she was the youngest artist to ever perform at the venue. "Pedestal" was released in a music video the previous month. Evancho began a tour to raise Two Hearts in May 2017. The album debuted at No. 2 in the United States. Billboard's 100th on the Billboard 200, and No. 0 is on the No. 00. Evancho's seventh consecutive debut on the Billboard Classical Albums chart is No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Albums chart, his seventh straight appearance on the chart. The Two Hearts Tour ran from 2018 to early 2019. Evancho appeared on America's Got Talent: The Champions in February 2019, but did not advance to the final. She appeared on the season's last show.

Evancho released The Debutant Studio Album on April 12, 2019, focusing on songs from 21st-century Broadway musicals and musical films. Michael Mangini produced the album. Evancho's eighth consecutive appearance on the Billboard Classical Albums chart, landed the album at No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Albums chart. 1.

In April 2019, Evancho began a US tour to promote The Debut, beginning with two nights at Feinstein's/54 Below in New York. In early 2020, the tour was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was resurgent in early 2022. She also promoted the album on various websites, including Yahoo! Good Morning America and Finance. In August 2019, Evancho's eponymous club in New York hosted three more concerts with Michael Feinstein at his eponymous club in New York. Evancho revealed in 2019 that she was working with vocal coach Joan Lader.

Evancho began recording an album of covers of Joni Mitchell songs, produced by Fred Mollin at Sound Stage Studio in Nashville. On September 9, 2022, she released Carousel of Time, the album's name. Evancho performed "River" on October 2022, "A Case of You," in May 2022, and "Blue" on August 2022, one of the album's early 2022, "Both Sides Now," before its release: Evancho performed on Good Day New York in September. "Evancho lends Mitchell's music a unique ethereal quality to his music, as well as a strong emotional connection with the lyrics," Jill O'Rourke wrote.

Evancho has appeared at concerts presenting Carousel of Time, as well as some of Evancho's other favorites, starting in September 2022 and continuing in October at City Winery venues in Nashville, Boston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Atlanta. In December, she will perform at the Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall in Munhall, Pennsylvania. At the 2009 memorial service for the victims of United Flight 93 and the 2011 NHL Winter Classic, Evancho sang the American national anthem. She appeared at Nella Fantasia at the Beverly Hills Chefs for Seals event in 2011 to promote the cancellation of the annual Canadian seal hunt and became an ambassador for a Humane Society of the United States initiative that encourages children to help protect animals. On Oprah's farewell special broadcast in May 2011, she appeared on "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" beginning with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Evancho had recorded with Tony Bennett and on David Foster albums by 2011, as well as appearing in Japan with the latter. She returned to Japan in January 2012 to perform in the Bunkamura Orchard Concert Hall reopening program "Musical meets Symphony" and giving her own concert with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. She performed for the Imperial family while she was there. Evancho performed at the US National Prayer Breakfast in February 2012. Evancho appeared on Dancing with the Stars in April, performing "Ave Maria" and "Dark Waltz" to accompany two dance teams. On the 2012 season finale of Can's Got Talent, she appeared as a guest star. Evancho performed at the 2012 Sothewell Hear Gala to benefit the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing assistance to people in need. In August, she appeared in Hiroshima, Japan, as part of "Peace for World" and performed with Tony Bennett at the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys, California. She appeared with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at the opening of Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, Texas, in October. Evancho collaborated with WhyHunger and Sephora to sell a bath kit named for her song "To Believe" in order to support WhyHunger's efforts to solve world hunger.

In the 2013 edition "One Night for One Drop on World Water Day," Evancho joined over 200 Cirque du Soleil performers in Las Vegas to help the One Drop Foundation's worldwide clean water access and education services. "Bridge Over Troubled Water," Jackie [Evancho] sung barefoot in the sand of the giant stage, "12-year-old superstar singer Jackie [Evancho] stole the show. ...She also controlled the spectacular finale, with a harness from the theater roof." She appeared in concert in Taiwan in April 2013 with José Carreras. She appeared with Tony Bennett in Alpharetta, Georgia, with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Evancho sang the national anthem and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," during A Capitol Fourth's broadcast in 2013.

In late 2013, Evancho headlined a benefit concert called Jackie Evancho & Friends: We Are Hope at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City, urging the teaching of music and art in US public schools. On Thanksgiving Day, she sang the US national anthem at the Green Bay Packers vs. the Detroit Lions football game, which was broadcast on Fox. In December, she headlined a Christmas-themed charity concert at Carnegie Hall hosted by her old mentor, Tim Janis.

Evancho appeared at Susan G. Komen's Perfect Pink Party in Palm Beach, Florida, in early 2014 to support breast cancer research. She then headlined a concert with the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, to benefit the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. In the 2014 National Memorial Day Concert, which PBS broadcast, she appeared in the 2014 gala to benefit Chicago's WTTW radio and WFMT radio stations and the 2014 National Memorial Day Concert. Evancho performed "Over the Rainbow" at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2014 awards dinner. She appeared at a David Foster Foundation concert in September 2014 to help families with children who need a major organ transplant. At the United Nations to launch the UNICEF #Imagine campaign in November, she performed John Lennon's "Imagine" at the United Nations.

Evancho produced a video in 2015 to promote the Humane Society's fight against seal hunting. She appeared in Andrea Bocelli's concert in Thailand as a visitor. "If there's anything on Earth near the sounds of an angel," a Nation reporter wrote about it, "it must be Jackie Evancho's heavenly voice." In August, she appeared in a "David Foster and Friends" concert in Malaysia. Evancho attended another charity in Forte dei Marmi, Italy, with Foster and Bocelli, for the Celebrity Fight Night Foundation in September. She appeared at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in the midst of Pope Francis' visit to the city last month. Evancho appeared at a Benefit for the Global Lyme Alliance in New York City in October 2015. She performed the US national anthem at the Pittsburgh Steelers game against the Indianapolis Colts in December and released the first single on her own JE Touring label, a cover of Taylor Swift's "Safe & Sound" album, as well as a video.

Evancho performed at the David Foster Foundation's 2016 fundraiser in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to help pay for pediatric organ transplants and care for patients' families. She appeared in AGT's first Christmas special at the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in November and ended the year with a appearance.

At Donald Trump's inauguration in January 2017, Evancho performed the US national anthem. She said that her decision to act was political, but that her selection "from both sides of the political spectrum" was revealed on social media and in the newspaper. "The Star-Spangled Banner," "America the Beautiful," and "God Bless America" were among her three songs on the same day. Evancho said that all funds raised from the launch would go to LGBT "charities in the honor of my sister Juliet" as a result of her sister Juliet's sister Juliet. Evancho appeared at the annual "Romance of the Mission" charity gala in 2018 to preserve and sustain Mission San Juan Capistrano, California. In 2019, she appeared at the August Wilson Center in Pittsburgh to support The Brave Heart Foundation, which helps homeless young adults. In December 2021 at Millersville, Pennsylvania, Evancho performed "Home for the Holidays" in a concert named "Home for the Holidays."
