Jack Roush (born Jackson Earnest Roush, 1942) is the founder, CEO, and co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing, a NASCAR team headquartered in Concord, North Carolina. He is Chairman of Roush Enterprises. Roush Enterprises, as well as Roush Industries, a freelance engineering company; Roush Production, an automotive aftermarket development company; and ROUSH CleanTech, a propane autogas fuel conversion company, are among Roush Racing's parent company, which is headquartered in Livonia, Michigan.
More than 2,000 employees are employed by his companies in North America and Europe. Roush is best known as "The Cat in the Hat" on the NASCAR circuit, and he is rarely seen without his trademark Panama hat. On April 27, 2006, Roush was inducted into the International Motorsport Hall of Fame.

Early years
Roush was born in Covington, Kentucky, and he grew up in Manchester, Ohio. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a minor in physics from Berea College, as well as a master's degree in scientific mathematics from Eastern Michigan University.
Roush spent time at Ford after graduating in 1966 and then left in 1970 to start his own business. He spent a year at Chrysler before moving to open his own engineering company. Roush then joined Wayne Gapp to compete in NHRA, IHRA, and AHRA drag racing series.
Roush began selling portions of his own team throughout much of his career. He began working with German firm Zakspeed in 1982 to produce road racing cars for Ford. In the 1980s and early 1990s, the Trans-Am series and IMSA Camel GT had a fruitful run. Roush, a retired engineer from Florida, and Mark Martin, a racer, established a NASC Winston Cup Series team in 1988.
