The highly awaited list of 2023 Grammy nominees has finally arrived, and it includes some of the country's best-known artists. For the first time, she had the opportunity to explore her own creativity. Harvey claims, "I wanted to make music before" it was impossible." "I knew right away, like, 'This is what I want to do,'" then said the author. When I'm Alone, Harvey's full-length debut out Friday (October 28), puts those skills on full display. But she wrote it long before. She was already working full-time at a bakery in Atlanta, writing songs when she could. But her career trajectory soon rebounded after she established a close online friendship with Marshall Vore, Phoebe Bridgers' drummer and co-writer, as well as Maya Hawke's latest album engineer. Harvey was welcomed to Los Angeles to record some songs, and the two soon became a great team. "Vore's] songwriting, lyric-wise, is the exact form of songwriting I adore," Harvey says.
