Ivonne Coll Mendoza (born June 18, 1947) is a Puerto Rican actress.

Miss Puerto Rico was born in 1967 and competed in the Miss Universe pageant the same year.

She went on to act as herself in films titled Switched at Birth and Teen Wolf, as well as The Godfather Part II and Lean on Me.

Alba Villanueva appeared in the CW comedy-drama series Jane the Virgin from 2014 to 2019.

Early years

Coll was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, where she obtained her primary and secondary education. Rosita Mendoza, her mother, was a well-known hairstylist in Puerto Rico. Millie is also a millie. Collis and her mother were separated after her father left Puerto Rico for New York City after Collin was born. Collin and her family immigrated to San Juan, Puerto Rico's capital, when she was ten years old; they lived in the Ro Piedras and Hato Rey municipalities of the city. Colle Seguir school honor student and graduated from Nuestra Segrera del Pilar. She then enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico (Universidad de Puerto Rico), where she studied Social Sciences. Collette began her modeling career as a child model. In 1966, she represented Fajardo in the Miss Puerto Rico pageant and captured the grand prize. Coll was the only representative from Fajardo to win the national title until Ashley Cario won in 2022.

Rafael Perez Perry, the owner of television channel 11 in Puerto Rico, noticed Coll. around 1971. Iris Chacón, a young starlet, appeared on his show. Collar Perry thought she might have a show of her own to compete, according to Perez Perry. He sponsored Una chica llamada Coll, which ran from 1971 to 1975, so he sponsored the show, which was billed as Una chica llamada Ivonne Colli.

Collin was born in Los Angeles, California, where she took dance and singing lessons in the Academy of Stage and Cinema Arts. She was cast in "Burning Beach," a dramatic play that was staged in the American Place Theater.

Collett migrated to New York in 1979, where she appeared in various Off Broadway productions, including Spain 1980, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth. Francis Ford Coppola, a film director from New York, cast her as "Yolanda," a Havana night club singer in The Godfather II. Despite the fact that her job was small, the knowledge gained would be helpful in the future. "Yvonne Coll" was her name.

In the 1989 film Lean On Me, written by Michael Schiffer and starring Morgan Freeman, Colli played a minor role as a tutor named Mrs. Santos. When Coll returned to Puerto Rico, she was invited to participate in La verdadera historia de Pedro Navaja and Paper Flowers. She appeared in La gran Fiesta (The Grand Party), as well as in the television show Cuqui. She appeared in Besos de Fuego, a 2002 film.

Collin played the title role in Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage at the Berkeley Rep Theater in Berkeley, California, in October 2006. Switched at Birth, Glee, and Teen Wolf appeared on Switched at Birth, Glee, and Teen Wolf from 2011 to 2014. Collison became a member of the main cast of the CW comedy film, Jane the Virgin, starting in the fall of 2014.

Collin was honoured by the National Puerto Rican Day Parade's chief with a lifetime achievement award for her long and varied career in 2015.

Collin returned to Puerto Rico permanently in 2019.
