Houghton was born to a white mother and an Afro-Jamaican father. From 1994 to 2015, Houghton was married to Meleasa Houghton, and the divorce was finalized on February 22, 2016. While married, the musician fathered two sons with mistress DeVawn Moreno. After many months of dating, Houghton married singer and TV actress Adrienne Bailon in Paris on November 11, 2016.
