Irina Vladimirovna Dvorovenko (born 28 August 1973) is a Ukrainian American actress and former principal ballet dancer with the American Ballet Theatre in New York.

Early life

During the Soviet period, Dvorovenko was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her parents are dancers. She began with gymnastics before deciding on Kyiv Ballet School at the age of ten.

Personal life

Maxim Beloserkovsky, a fellow ABT principal dancer, is married to Dvorovenko. Emma Galina, the couple's daughter, was born in 2005. Dvorovenko is a naturalized American citizen.

Career

Dvorovenko became a soloist in 1990 and was promoted to principal dancer in 1992. When she was on tour with the company, she and her coworkers decided to bring as much food back home as possible.

In 1996, Dvorovenko joined the American Ballet Theatre and was promoted to soloist the following year. In 2000, she became a principal dancer. Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora, The Sleeping Beauty and Kitri in Don Quixote had performed many lead roles at the company, including Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora.

Dvorovenko resigned from ABT after a successful Tatiana appearance in Onegin in May 2013, with Cory Stearns playing the title role. She wanted to appear as a guest artist.

Dvorovenko, along with her partner, Maxim Beloserkovsky, now mentors younger dancers at ABT. Skylar Brandt was one of the first dancers they coached in Giselle for her debut as the principal role. Beloserkovsky also conducts a ballet intensive.

Vera Baronova made her acting debut in the Encores in May 2013. On Your Toes is a web page that publishes articles about On Your Toes, which is located in New York City Center. Her results have received raves.

In 2015, Dvorovenko appeared in Starz TV series Flesh and Bone as Kiira, an aging prima ballerina. Ethan Stiefel, a former ABT colleague of Dvorovenko, choreographed the performance.

In the fifth season of The Americans, Dvorovenko appeared as a recurring character. Evgheniya Morozova, a Soviet immigrant, appeared on television.

In March 2018, Dvorovenko returned to Encores! In Grand Hotel, Elizaveta Grushinskaya.
