Aldana defeated Larissa Pacheco for the vacant JF Women's Bantamweight Championship in a lone fight against Brazilian mixed martial arts promotion Jungle Fight. She lost in the third round of TKO, her first defeat of her professional career.

Aldana joined Invicta FC in mid-2014 and made her debut against Peggy Morgan in Invicta FC 8: Waterson vs. Tamada on September 9, 2014, defeating Morgan with a back-naked choke in the first round.

On December 5, 2014, she was supposed to face Marion Reneau at Invicta FC 10: Waterson vs. Tiburcio, but Aldana was forced to cancel the match due to sickness, and the game was postponed.

On February 27, 2015, Aldana had been scheduled to face Melanie LaCroix at Invicta FC 11: Cyborg vs. Tweet; however, LaCroix withdrew from the match for undisclosed reasons and was replaced by promotional newcomer Colleen Schneider. She won the title by a back-naked choke in the first round.

On November 6, 2016, it was announced that Aldana had been signed to the United States Football Club and would meet Leslie Smith at UFC on Fox 22 on December 17, 2016. Aldana's fight was decided by unanimous majority. Despite the loss, Aldana earned her first Fight of the Night bonus in the UFC.

On January 14, 2018, Aldana faced Talita Bernardo at UFC Fight Night: Stephens versus Choi. Aldana was elected unanimously in the competition.

On August 4, 2018, Aldana had been scheduled to face Bethe Correya at UFC 227; however, Correction was called off due to injury. Rather, Aldana faced Lucie Pudilová on September 8, 2018, winning a close match via split vote and earning her and Pudilova Fight of the Night awards.

Bethe Correya's fight was postponed and is scheduled to take place at UFC 237 on May 11, 2019. Correia weighed in at 141 lbs, 5 pounds over the bantamweight maximum of 136 pounds at the weigh-ins. She was fined 30% of her fight money, but the match was still at catchweight. In round three, Aldana defeated the fight by submission.

On July 20, 2019 at UFC on ESPN 4, Aldana met Raquel Pennington. Aldana lost the fight on a split decision.

On September 21, 2019, Aldana would face Marion Reneau at UFC on ESPN+ 17. Reneau, on the other hand, dropped out of the match on September 11 for undisclosed reasons. Reneau was replaced by Vanessa Melo, a newcomer with a new sense of humor. Melo weighed in at 140 pounds, 4 pounds over the bantamweight non-title fighting maximum of 136 pounds at the weigh-ins. She was fined 30% of her purse and her match with Aldana ended at a catchweight. Aldana won the fight by a unanimous decision.

On December 14, 2019, Aldana took on Ketlen Vieira at UFC 245. In round one, Aldana was victorious, despite losing by a knockout. This victory earned her the Excellence of the Night Award.

On August 1, 2020 at UFC Fight Night 173, Aldana was scheduled to face Holly Holm. Aldana pulled out of the war for undisclosed reasons, according to a report on July 22. Aldana reported that the reason for the departure was testing positive for COVID-19, just hours after the news broke. Holm was dropped from the card as a result, and the pair was kept intact and rescheduled for October 4, 2020 at UFC on ESPN: Holm vs. Aldana. Aldana was disqualified by a unanimous decision in the case.

On July 10, 2021, Aldana clashed with Yana Kunitskaya at UFC 264. Aldana weighed in at 139.5 pounds, three, and a half pounds over the bantamweight non-title fight maximum at the weigh-ins. Her fight is expected to begin at catchweight, and she will be fined 30% of her money, which will go to her opponent Kunitskaya. In round one, Aldana defeated the opponent by a technical knockout.

Aldana was due to face Germaine de Randamie at UFC 268 in New York, NY. However, de Randamie was forced to return early September due to illness.

On April 9, 2022, Aldana was scheduled to face Aspen Laddd at UFC 273. However, Aldana was forced to delay in late March for unknown reasons, and Raquel Pennington, the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship champion, was swapped in for her.

On September 10, 2022, Aldana faced Macy Chiasson at UFC 279. She won the third round by an upkick to Chaisson's body. Aldana received her second Outstanding Achievement of the Night (British) award for her second appearance on the night.
