Early life
Hunter was born July 6, 1970 and grew up in Staten Island. Hunter routinely mentions the Park Hill Projects in Clifton, Staten Island, where he grew up and went to school with the future Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Remedy. Hunter's father died when he was six years old.
Career

Inspectah Deck had been supposed to appear on the track "Got My Mind Made Up" by 2Pac for his album All Eyez on Me and Lady of Rage, but both artists had to be cut out at Shakur's request. Tha Dogg Pound, Redman, and Deck's fellow Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man were among the song's featured characters. Despite his verse being cut out, he can also be heard at the end of the song singing "INS the rebel" before it fades out. His debut album Uncontrolled Substance was expected to be out in late 1997, but due to a flood in producer RZA's basement studio, which destroyed over one hundred beats, as well as all of the instrument's. Uncontrolled Substance was released in September 1999, showcasing more of Deck's own work as well as appearances from several lesser known affiliates. Music critics generally lauded the album, but it was unable to bring the audience to a conclusion that had not been held by previous Wu-Tang solo projects. Deck returned to the Wu-Tang fold for the Wu-Tang group's The W (2000) and Iron Flag (2001), a short time after this appearance.
In 2003, Inspectah Deck's second studio album, The Movement, which he would later regret, was released in 2006, and it was intended as a precursor to The Movement. The rapper reunited with Wu-Tang Clan in 2007 to record the Wu-Tang Clan's album 8 Diagrams. The controversy, which culminated in several groups' differences over RZA's tight artistic control of the record, promoted Ghostface Killah and Raekwon, prompted by Inspectah Deck's participation in the scandal, which culminated when several group members criticize Ghostface Killah's album The Big Doe Rehab. Inspectah Deck's fourth solo album manifesto, which includes guest-appearances from Raekwon, Cormega, Termanology, Planet Asia, Cappadonna, Kurupt, and M.O.P. He recently revealed on Twitter that he had changed the name of his final album to Uncontrolled Substance II, a sequel to his debut album; RZA and The Wu-Elements will continue to produce primarily by RZA.
After working with The Wu-Tang Clan on their sixth studio album A Better Tomorrow, he rejoined 7L & Esoteric for their third Czarface album, A Fistful of Peril, in June 2015 and again in 2016, when Marvel Entertainment approached them to record a track for their Black Panther web-series.
