Early life and education
Insooni was born in Pocheon, South Korea, to an African American father in April 1957, and her upbringing was fraught with problems regarding minorities, which was particularly acute at this time. Career
In 1978, Insooni made her debut with the Hee Sisters, but South Korean public opinion doubted that a girl group would be profitable in South Korea. Fate (), Insooni's solo release, debuted in 1980. 1983, with the age of disco setting in, If it's night, every night (), saw her debut as a hit on KBS charts from 1984, she soared and remained at number one.
