Ilia Calderón Chamat (born 1972) is a Colombian journalist.

Calderón, a native of Chocó, now works as the news anchor for Univision's national evening newscast, alongside Jorge Ramos. She obtained her degree in Social Work at Universidad de Antioquia.

She appeared on several news shows, first on national channel Teleantioquia.

In 1998, she appeared on national television for Noticiero CM&.

Cada D'a Antonieta appeared on Telemundo three years later, as she hosted the Noticiero Telemundo weekend edition and a segment on the now defunct morning show Cada D'a Antonieta. In 2005, she underwent a fruitful surgery to remove a tumor in her uterus. Univision Primer Impacto's weekend edition was hosted in Telemundo.

Since Fernando del Rincon, the host of Primer Impacto, was fired in 2009, Ilia became a regular co-host on the Monday-Friday edition with Barbara Bermudo moving the weekend edition to Satcha Pretto. When coanchoring Primer Impacto, she became the co-anchor of Univision's late evening newscast "Noticiero Univision Nocturna" airing at 11:30 p.m. in 2010. Pamela Silva Conde will be joining Primer Impacto, replacing Ilia Calderón who will remain on "Noticiero Univision Edición Nocturna" after being stumbling on "Noticiero Univision Nocturna" in December 2017. She is married to Eugene Jang; they have one child.

Education and early career

At Universidad de Antioquia, she concentrated on Social Work. She appeared on several news shows, first on regional channel Teleantioquia. She moved from Telemundo to host Univision Primer Impacto's weekend edition in March 2007. Fernando del Rincon, the prime minister of 2009, was fired, and Ilia became a regular co-host on the Monday-Friday edition with Barbara Bermudo leaving the weekend edition to Satcha Pretto.

While co-anchoring Primer Impacto, she became the co-anchor of Univision's late evening newscast "Noticiero Univision Edición Nocturna," which airs at 11:30 p.m.

Pamela Silva would join Primer Impacto on June 3, 2011, replacing Ilia Calderón, who will remain on "Noticiero Una."

She was nominated for her 2017 interview with Christopher Barker, the Ku Klux Klan imperial wizard, winner of an Emmy Award. When Maria Elena Salinas, a former co-anchor of Noticiero Univision, was replaced in December 2017, she made history by doing something new. This made her the first Afro-Latina to anchor a weekday primetime newscast for a major television network in the United States.

On March 15, 2020, she co-hosted the eleventh Democratic presidential debate on CNN, with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
