Henry Oswald Simmons, Jr. (born July 1, 1970) is an American actor.
He is known for his role as NYPD Detective Baldwin Jones on ABC's NYPD Blue from 2000 to 2005, as Agent Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.L.D.
Early life and education
Simmons was born in Stamford, Connecticut. He is the son of Aurelia, a school instructor, and Henry Simmons, Sr., an IRS Revenue Officer. He is one of three children, including his twin sister and another sibling. Simmons earned a basketball scholarship to Franklin Pierce University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree.
He experimented in theater while attending Franklin Pierce University. He briefly worked at a Fortune 500 firm in Stamford after graduating from college. Simmons, who was unemployed with his career, migrated to New York City to study acting, and after a few bits, he landed a recurring role on the soap opera Another World.

Career
Simmons appeared on ABC's New York Times Blue as Detective Baldwin Jones. He was a key role in the CBS legal drama Shark, a leading role in the world's Greatest Dad, and the ABC-TV comedy series Man Up!
