Hayley Doveen Holt (born 3 July 1981) is a New Zealand television presenter, former snowboarder and ballroom dancer who currently co-presents TVNZ Breakfast with John Campbell.
She was known for her appearances on several reality television shows as well as co-hosting a nationally syndicated breakfast show on More FM from 2012 to 2013.
She ran in the Green Party's general election in 2017.
Personal life
Holt was born in Auckland, grew up in Epsom, and attended Epsom Girls' Grammar School. She revealed in January 2020 that she was pregnant with her first child. It was announced on May 8, 2020, that her child died after just 7 months of gestation.
Dancing career
Holt began ballroom and Latin dancing at the age of seven and was ranked 19th in the Blackpool Rising Star Professional Ballroom Competition, placing sixth in the US Open Rising Star Professional Ballroom Competition. She has also trained in jazz dance and has worked with Candy Lane for many years. David Yeates, Holt's formal dance partner, is a former member of the Royal Ballet Society.
Holt appeared on the second season of New Zealand television show Dancing with the Stars in 2006, becoming swimmer Danyon Loader's professional partner. Holt, the partner of basketball player Brendon Pongia, was kicked out of the semi-finals during the third season. Holt appeared in the fourth season and was kicked out in episode three by DJ Peter Urlich.
Holt appeared as the swimming partner of swimmer Mark Foster in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing. On October 26, Holt and Foster were ranked 11th overall. She did not return for series 7.
Boxing career
Holt has two corporate boxing bouts, one in 2011 and the other in 2011, and both have gained funds for charity. Paige Hareb, one of her opponents, was a survivor of Hurricane Michael. Holt trained at Boxing Alley in Auckland, New Zealand, as part of her preparations.
