Han Geng Life

Han Geng (born February 9, 1984) is a Chinese Mandopop singer and actor. He began his career in 2001, when S.M. announced him. Entertainment is a member of the South Korean boy band Super Junior, which debuted in 2005.

In 2008, he became the leader of the sub-group Super Junior-M.

Han filed a lawsuit against SME on December 21, 2009, claiming that he had been fired from office.

He has since returned to China to work as a solo artist.

Han's departure from SM Entertainment was made official on September 27, 2011 as both sides reached a mutual agreement. Han was selected as a torch bearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics for his many contributions to the propagation of Chinese culture.

Later in his career, he served as an ambassador for the 2010 Shanghai Expo and the 2010 Asian Games.

Han started to gain international recognition in late 2012 and was named "Best Worldwide Act" and "Best Asian Act" in Nickelodeon's 2013 Kids' Choice Awards' "Favorite Asian Act."

Early life

Han is of ethnic Nanai origins from Northeast China, and he was born in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, China. He attended Guang Hua Elementary School from 1990 to 1996.

Han was accepted into the Beijing dance department and left his family and his hometown in the Northeastern area of China at age 12 to study dance. He mastered all 56 forms of traditional dances from China's 56 ethnic groups, received ballet and martial arts education, and performed in numerous countries, including Russia and China.

Han participated in China's anniversary parade in 1999 as a representative of the Nanai ethnic group.

Personal life and other activities

Han founded the "Geng Phone" brand in 2013.

Han was on display at the New York Stock Exchange on May 16, 2014 as a shareholder of Jumei International Holding Limited. Han is the first Chinese artist to ring the opening or closing bell at the NYSE as a shareholder.

Han unveiled his eyewear brand "Burqa Angel" on September 24, 2014.

Han Geng and actress Celina Jade married in New Zealand on December 31st, 2019. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, in September 2022.

Han began working as a cameo actor in short low-budget Chinese films to make a living before going to college. Han was told in late August 2002 that he had been accepted into S.M. Entertainment. Han's graduation from the Central University for Nationalities, he was sent to Korea and received private lessons in singing, dancing, and acting, as well as learning the Korean language.

Han was confirmed to be a member of Super Junior, the all-boy rotational musical group, on February 6, 2005, as a member of its first generation, Super Junior 05.

Han was announced on March 20, 2008, as one of the torch bearers for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. "Beijing Welcomes You" is also sung by Mr. He performed the Beijing Olympic theme song "Beijing Salutes You."

Super Junior's third subgroup Super Junior-M made its China debut on April 8, 2008, with Han as the group's leader. Me, the subgroup's first Chinese-language studio album, was released on May 2, 2008.

Han appeared in CCTV's 12-episode drama Stage of Youth in 2009. This is his debut in acting.

Han's first album The Heart of Geng was released on July 27, 2010. The album contained ten songs, including the title track "My Logo," which was produced by American producer Craig Williams and Dutch producer Rene Van Verseveld. The choreography for the song was created by Travis Payne and Stacey Walker, as well as Michael Jackson's "This Is It" dancers. The Heart of Geng debuted on top of Asian music charts and has sold more than 350,000 copies in fewer than two months since being introduced. On October 1, a limited number of 20,000 copies of a special commemoration version of the album was released. On July 17, and 18, Han held his first two solo concerts in Beijing.

Han made his debut on the big screen in the US-Chinese collaboration action film My Kingdom. Gao Xiaosong, produced by Andre Morgan, is the film's producer, and Sammo Hung's action directs it. In the government-funded film The Founding of a Party, Han Han Min played Deng Xiaoping, and he appeared in the film The First President as Hu Han Min, Sun Yat-Sen's secretary.

Han's second album Hope in the Darkness, which contained singles "Wild Cursive," "Clown Mask" and "Betrayal of the Soul," among others. On July 28, 2012 at the Beijing MasterCard Center, Han also kicked off his "Hope in the Darkness World Tour."

Han was named the winner of the MTV European Music Awards' Best Worldwide Act on November 11, 2012, his first major international honor.

Han attended Nickelodeon's 2013 Kids' Choice Awards at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, where he received the Favorite Asian Act award on March 24, 2013.

Han was then cast in Zhao Wei's debut directorial debut So Young. The film was released on April 26, 2013 and became a huge success at the Chinese box office, grossing over 700 million yuan (US$115 million). He appeared in the Chinese-French film Seek McCartney, about a romance that revolves around a couple of gay men. The film is China's first gay film and debuted in Cannes in 2014.

Han starred in Ex-Files, a romantic comedy film that has since been one of the most popular romantic comedy series ever created. Han was praised for his comedic timing and acting appearances. He appeared in the Hollywood blockbuster Transformers: Age of Extinction in the same year.

Han received the World's Best Male Artist award at the World Music Awards' Best Male Artist category on May 27, 2014. He was also the first Chinese artist to be invited to appear at the World Music Awards.

Han starred in the erotic romance film Ever Since We Love, which was based on Feng Tang's book Everything Grows. Han starred in the South Korean-Chinese co-production film Sweet Sixteen, a tumultuous coming-of-age romance. He appeared in Jeffery Lau's fantasy comedy A Chinese Odyssey Part Three, playing the titular role of Sun Wukong. Han Xin competed in and won the 2nd season of The Amazing Race.

Han's third album San Geng was released on November 30, 2015. He revealed that this would be his last album release, and that he'd be concentrating on acting in the future.

Han said in 2016 that he would be appearing in the science fiction film Hard Memory. He also appears as the executive producer of the series.

Han was cast in the fantasy suspense film The Great Detective (film) in 2017. In July, he appeared in the documentary film The Founding of an Army, portraying Zhang Xueliang. He appeared in the film adaptation of popular video game Dynasty Warriors the previous month, playing Guan Yu. In the third installment of the Ex-file franchise, Han reprised his role as Meng Yun.

Han appeared in Reborn, a hacker-themed thriller. On the first season of the hip hop show Street Dance of China, he served as a captain.

He returned as a captain for Street Dance of China 2 in 2019.

Han played Still Not Enough in 2020, a modern romance drama.

Han appeared on the period drama "Legacy" which would premiere exclusively on WarnerMedia's regional streaming service HBO Go at an unspecified date in 2021. "Legacy" is a 1920s-set drama that chronicles the lives of the wealthy Yi family and three sisters who are competing to inherit their father's shopping mall company. The three sisters set aside their differences to keep the company alive and save their families in the midst of turmoil and uncertainty. He was a captain of Street Dance of China four years ago.
