Halima Xudoyberdyeva (17 May 1947 – August 18, 2018) was a Uzbek poet whose themes at different times in her career included Uzbek nationhood and history, liberation movements, and feminist feminism.

People's Poet of Uzbekistan was given the honor of "People's Poet of Uzbekistan."

Life

Halima Xudoyberdyeva was born on 17 May 1947 on Taraqqiyot Collective Farm in Boyovut, Uzbekistan. She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Tashkent State University in 1972. She began working as an editor at Saodat magazine, which was her first job. She undertook advanced graduate study at the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in Moscow in 1975-1977. In 1978, she went on to lead the Yosh Gvardiya department of publications. She served as Saodat's editor-in-chief from 1984 to 1994. She served as the first president of Uzbekistan's Women's Committee from 1991-94.
