Gurdas Maan (born 4 January 1957) is an Indian singer, composer, choreographer, and actor best known for Punjabi language music and films.
He is considered one of Punjabi music's most popular artists.
With the song "Dil Da Mamla Hai" in 1980, he attracted national attention.

Early life
Maan was born in Giddarbaha, Punjab, to Gurdev Singh and Tej Kaur and is a native of the area. He began his education at Giddarbaha and graduated from DAV college, Malout, in Malout. He obtained his Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) from the government. Physical education at the University of Patiala was founded in 1973. Later, he obtained his Masters of Physical Education and married his wife there.
He was interested in music and mimicry from a young age.

He is married to Manjeet Maan. They have a son, Gurickk Maan, who is married to actress Simran Kaur Mundi.
On January 20, 2007, Maan was involved in a car accident in which his Range Rover was struck and seriously wounded by a truck at a village near Karnal, Haryana, India. Maan had minor injuries on his face, hands, and chest. Ganesh's driver was injured in the crash but recovered quickly afterwards.
Gurdas Maan was involved in two automobile accidents. On the first accident, Maan's car collided with a truck near Rupnagar, Punjab, on Monday. Tejpal, Maan's driver, was killed in the crash. Maan later admitted that his driver begged him to wear his seat belt minutes before the accident. It would have been fatal if it had not been for his driver's instructions, according to Maan. Later, he wrote and performed a song "Baithi sade navari utter gayi" dedicated to his driver, who was also his good friend.

Career
Maan initially worked in the electricity board, a job he was offered by officials he met at a singing event. In 1980, a producer approached him to perform the song "Dil Da Mamla Hai" in DD National.
Maan is the only Punjabi singer to win the national award for Best Male Playback Singer at 54th National Film Awards for building the entire narrative through his singing of Heer in Waris Shah: Ishq Daa Waaris. The said film also entered the Academy Awards ( Oscars ) in General Category. He also sang the popular track, Ki Banu Duniya Da on Coke Studio MTV Season 4 with singer Diljit Dosanjh. The song was released on 15 August 2015 and hit more than 32 million views on YouTube in one week.
In 2009, he won "Best International Album" at the UK Asian Music Awards for Boot Polishan.
