Gucci Mane Life

Radric Delantic Davis (born February 12, 1980), also known as Gucci Mane, is an American rapper.

He was a pioneer of trap music with fellow Atlanta-based rapper T.I. Especially in the 2000s and 2010s, Young Jeezy was a hit.

Gucci Mane debuted with Trap House in 2005, then followed by his second and third albums, Unstopp-A-Thon and Trap-A-Thon in 2006.

In 2007, Back to the Trap House, his fourth album, was released. Gucci Mane's sixth studio album, The State vs., followed a series of critically and commercially successful mixtape launches in 2009.

Radric Davis' first gold-certified album.

Following time in jail between 2014 and 2016, he relaunched with several new retail ventures, including Everybody Looking (2016), which received acclaim.

Gucci Mane's first number-one single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, along with Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles," gave Gucci Mane his first number-one single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

He has since released numerous albums; his most recent, Woptober II, was released on October 18, 2019.Gucci Mane has released 13 studio albums and over 71 mixtapes; his most popular one, Woptober II, was released on October 18, 2019.

He formed 1017 Records in 2007.

He has collaborated with musicians including Drake, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, and Marilyn Manson.

His prolific mixtape series and long-livedance as a trap music innovator in Atlanta have firmly established him as a major influence on younger Atlanta rappers such as Young Thug, Migos, Rich Homie Quan, 21 Savage and Lil Yachty, and "the most influential underground rapper of the past decade."

Early life

Davis was born in Bessemer, Alabama, on February 12, 1980, to former U.S serviceman and power plant worker Ralph Everett Dudley (born August 23, 1955), as a social worker and tutor. Davis' family had a strong military history. James Dudley, Sr., and his maternal grandfather, Walter Lee Davis, served in the Pacific during World War II and South Dakota. Davis' father served in the military for two years while stationed in Korea for two years.

Davis' parents met in 1978; Davis' mother had a son from another family, Victor Davis. When Davis was born, his father was on the run from the police for selling crack cocaine and opiates and had to flee Detroit, Michigan. Davis' father was unable to sign the birth certificate, and Davis took his mother's last name.

Davis' father was raised by his maternal grandmother, but his mother attended college to get her diploma. Davis' mother was a tutor who taught him to read at a young age, and the bulk of her time was spent teaching him scriptures from the Bible. Jonesboro Elementary School was Davis' first school, where he attended kindergarten and the first two elementary grades. Victor Davis, his older half-brother, introduced Davis to hip hop when he was six years old, bringing Davis to a Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, and LL Cool J concert. Davis had a distant acquaintance with his father, who would return to Atlanta at night; the visits stopped when Davis' father had two children with another woman and decided to prioritize his children over Davis.

Davis and his single mother moved to Atlanta when he was nine years old due to family issues in Bessemer. Davis' mother had a boyfriend in Atlanta and had intended to move in with him, but she decided against it at the last minute. They later went into a house where someone Davis' mother attended in church. Davis' family was kicked out of the house and did not have a stable living situation until his father raised them up in a Knights Inn. Davis grew up in a violent neighborhood.

Davis and Victor were moved to East Atlanta, while Davis attended Cedar Grove Elementary School. He did well in school and considered himself athletic, but did not participate in school sports. Davis was addicted to opioids, but his older brother was primarily selling marijuana. Davis grew marijuana on his own and ended up obtaining crack cocaine while eighth grade, starting his career as a drug dealer.

By the time Davis began working as a drug dealer, he was a freshman at Ronald E. McNair High School, where he earned high marks and was considered popular among his peers. Davis never took heroin for the first few years that he was using drugs, but his first encounter with marijuana was with a girl he had a crush on. He entered a friends-with-benefits deal with the girl with whom he smoked cannabis regularly, resulting in a slight psychological dependence.

Despite the fact that Davis had been selling drugs for almost two years by 1995, he had never been in a dangerous situation. Davis was riding his push bike when a man stopped him and pointed a Desert Eagle at his head when he was fifteen. Following the shooting, Davis was robbed of all valuable stuff and was advised to carry a.380 caliber handgun. Davis faced numerous other life-threatening situations, including a squabble with a local street gang that branded themselves "the East Shoals Boys" in 1997. Davis' friend Javon was beaten to death, and adult men were walked into McNair High School looking for Davis. Davis and several other friends reacted anarchically during a fistfight with members of the East Shoals Boys, who have since then left Davis alone.

Davis graduated from McNair High School in 1998 with a 3.0 GPA and a HOPE Scholarship to Georgia Perimeter College. He took a computer programming course but was dropped out in 2001 after being caught with crack cocaine by an undercover police officer. Davis was sentenced to 90 days in a county jail followed by probation.

Davis loved writing poetry at a young age and began rapping at the age of 14. Davis began to take music seriously after his first arrest and on Str8 Drop Records, La Flare was released. It was pressed to about 1000 CDs and then sold throughout East Atlanta. Following the success of La Flare, and being inspired by Master P. Davis's, he decided to start a music label. In 2001, Davis began to work with rapper Lil Buddy. Davis joined SYS Records as a member of the Sign Yourself Click in 2002. Davis has worked with producer Zaytoven and founded LaFlare Entertainment, which is also affiliated with the producer Zaytoven brand.

He was introduced to Big Cat, the head of Big Cat Records, after heading to New York in search of a distribution deal and returning home empty. Davis, who eventually decided to form an alliance with Khia's success, also released the album "Black Tee," a tribute to Dem Franchize Boyz' hit record, "White Tee," as well as a "So Icy" with fellow rising local rapper Young Jeezy. Davis, who has signed a distribution deal with Tommy Boy Records, continued to work in the underground while waiting for the unveiling of his debut album.

Personal life

On October 17, 2017, Davis married Keyshia Ka'oir, the maker of Ka'oir Cosmetics and Ka'oir Fitness, in Miami. The wedding was paid for by BET, who produced The Mane Event, a 10-segment television series depicting wedding planning and the event. After playing at a basketball game with the Atlanta Hawks, Davis was able to propose Ka'oir to him. Ka'oir gave birth to their son, Ice Davis, on December 23, 2020.

Davis admitted in his autobiography that he had a son born in 2007 whom he had no idea until the child was 10 months old.
